Last October, Celine gave us a study in styling right from Paris’s stunning National Library of France. The presentation showcased Tomboy, Celine’s Summer 2024 collection. The collection was a mix of casual and cool pieces, paying homage to the 90s and the early days of Creative Director Hedi Slimane’s design career.
Featured on the makeshift runway were an array of new bags, with the brand’s iconic Triomphe reigning supreme. The bag parade included a glimpse at the new Celine Victoire Bag, a relaxed carryall that oozes cool but chic simultaneously.
Duality in Design
The bag’s shape-shifting aesthetic was conceived exactly with duality in mind—meant to be worn as both a day and an evening bag. Offering a bit of slouch and a touch of structure thanks to its supple-grained leather, the Victoire bag is defined by its Triomphe hardware and distinct construction.
The bag is constructed with function in mind as well, and its tabbed leather flap closure opens to reveal two compartments with one zipped pocket and one patch pocket. A slight accordion construction provides a larger base for optimal storage, and its chain strap is the finishing touch of function.
The long chain slides to allow for crossbody wear and long or short-shoulder wear. Plus, the Victoire can be tucked under the arm as a pochette for nighttime use. Said to be the Celine bag of the summer, the Victoire Bag is introduced in a myriad of options, from grained leather and classic Triomphe canvas to leopard print and even crocodile.
