In a significant sartorial pivot, Taylor Swift made it known over the weekend that she is a fan of Gucci. Swift and her boyfriend, two-time Superbowl Campion Travis Kelce, continue to be spotted around New York City changing their fits for each outing.
One significant moment for them was watching Italian first-ranked Jannick Sinner beat top-ranked American Taylor Fritz at the US Open Men’s Final in Flushing Meadow, Queens. Kelce was wearing Gucci, it was easy to see, and Swift was carrying a Gucci Jackie Bag (there are not many photos of this, but it happened)!
Following the US Open Final, Swift and Kelce went out for the night, and a clear shift occurred: Taylor was wearing a head-to-toe Gucci look. While many other celebrities are known to be dressed by brands, Swift has a very different approach to her style, and I don’t ever remember seeing her in a logo dress and a complete brand look. Plus, when it comes to Taylor, while a brand may send her items, how she wears them and when is on her own timing.
As you all know, the Gucci Horseibit is one of my favorite bags in my collection. You may not realize it, but Taylor’s version sports pave crystal hardware, and I happen to own this bag in pink! I was delighted when Gucci confirmed this, as it’s one of my most elegant, modern, and favorite bags!
The shoes are very on par for Taylor, a chunky-heeled Horsebit that seems far more wearable and matches her personal style. The mid-heel and size of the heel itself make me think I should buy a pair. Consider me influenced, Miss Swift!
The last item is the one I least expected Taylor to pick, but oddly enough, I don’t hate the GG Canvas Dress on her. This is a more fashion-facing playful side of Taylor, most likely influenced by her boyfriend’s love for designer wear and bold statement pieces.
Other Sightings of Taylor Swift and Her Bags
This weekend’s trip to NYC for Trayvis (sorry, I had to sneak that in there at some point) included big on-screen moments at the US Open. While Travis showed his love for Gucci during this outing with a very Gucci ensemble, Taylor also tied it together with her Gucci Jackie. She has carried this bag before, so it’s nice to see her shopping her own closet.
We also saw Taylor and Travis head to the wedding of model Karen Elson to Electric Lady Studios owner Lee Foster. This was another big moment as far as photos go for the couple, and the bag Taylor carried fit her outfit while also being completely unexpected. She carried the Vivienne Westwood Rosie Circle Frame Denim-Jacquard Bag. I have to give her credit for carrying something I don’t think I’ve seen another celebrity carry!
Lastly, Taylor and Travis’s pizza date at Brooklyn hotspot Lucali created a lot of buzz. Her bag for that night was the Louis Vuitton Coussin bag.
Taylor Swift is paid handsomely, as is her boyfriend, to wear Gucci. Make no mistake. This isn’t about anything other than making more money.
I am not sure if that it true
I just don’t get Taylor’s overall style. Sometimes she nails it, other times it’s just so meh. Travis on the other hand, has great style and knows how to wear it.
I think because of Travis and his love for trying things outside of the box, Taylor is making new choices too! I don’t mind seeing her try new styles and seeing what works for her!
They are so fake, she is all PR, not talented. There is nothing genuine about her, not even ‘her’ style. Her fans have been brainwashed. Very weird situation.
I went to one of her Eras tour concerts over the summer with my daughter, and it was amazing. The crowd, the overall positive environment, and her 3.5-hour performance! I think you don’t have to be a fan to at the very least appreciate what she is able to do. Plus, with the people out there many young kids look up to, I think she is a good one
I feel that she takes advantage of her fans financially, especially young ones. I hope you didn’t have to re-mortgage to go to the concert where she mimed so much. She is very narcissistic, childish and makes it the norm to be nasty to others who ‘do her wrong’. Not a good role model. Tides are turning, thank goodness. The end.
We went to the European leg of her tour, and the tickets were 240 Euros for a first-row seat, with a negligible resale markup. The US tour tickets are horrendously overpriced due to the market conditions. In Europe, the culture doesn’t support overspending on concert tickets, like it does here.
How to say you’ve never listened to much Taylor Swift, or seen one of her shows, without saying it. 🤣
I don’t see how your comment is relevant to what I have said. Basic Swiftie response.
You asserted she wasn’t talented and “all PR”. Hence my response. I wasn’t a fan (I listen to more indie music) and was dragged to her 1984 concert a few years ago and blown away. Not only can she sing amazingly well her song writing skills are first class. She is able to story tell through her lyrics. She also has a huge range of works encompassing country, soul, rap, pop, etc etc. I was so surprised an artist I had thought of as being sugar pop was anything but. She plays a multitude of instruments and writes her own songs. Her concerts are part theatre, the production scale, the tech and the audience participation via things like light up arm bands programmed to change lighting and use the stadium as an extension of her set are next level. The prices actually turned out to be fair given the amount of infrastructure, tech and people. As for the music prices most of us now stream on platforms like Apple or Spotify so there’s no continuing money grab except for collectors. The Eras tour was literally the most impressive concert I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to many, of all genres including lots of huge names. The only “lip synching” is with backing tracks which was evident when she sung as she moved / changed lyrics / added snippets etc in real time. Hopefully you see how my comment is relevant to what you have said now.
Smoke and mirrors.
To have to write a novel to try to convince me of your point, or to try to change my mind or to try to make me understand something was sadly a waste of your time.
She’s not someone worth appreciating.
You have your opinion, and I have mine. That is okay, you know!!
Traylor doesn’t read your comments you know. She doesn’t care what you think. No need to go crazy for her.
I love that you’re not afraid to show the green eyed monster in you. Bravo!
I can afford Gucci, dear. Go annoy someone else. The world does not have to agree with you Swifties.
No dear, it’s a fashion post. I bet you would never say that to people in person. Don’t be a hateful troll. People are allowed to express their opinion. Your comment is just pure nastiness. Grow up.
I didn’t expect that Gucci dress on her but the Horsebit shoes I love!!
That’s what I’m saying! I think I need those shoes, they seem comfortable!!
I don’t know why, but I just love them together!!
Me too! I love what seems like seeing two people celebrate each other and have fun!
same!
Sorry but I think he dresses like a p*imp. There I said it. And look at the moustache!
What’s wrong with a moustache? Yes he has one. So what?
They are both very cool people. I don’t believe they are just shilling for certain brands, even though they surely must receive all the merchandise for free?. They seem to have an eclectic, different look than a lot of “stars.” All celebrities are in a different category than most of us regular folks, but I don’t see any reason to hate on them for appearing in public in various designer clothes and bags. It must be kind of a drag to have zero privacy and have everything you wear and do being judged. They look happy and I am happy for them!
