Balenciaga Introduces a Relaxed New Daily Haul-All

The bowler is SO back...

Balenciaga Ice Blue Carrie Bowling Bag

The bowler is back, and Balenciaga is co-signing its return with the launch of an intriguing new carryall.

The bowling bag has been an incredibly popular shape throughout modern handbag history, seeing a boom in the late 90s and early 2000s. A retro ode to the classic American bowling bags of the past, this year, the bowler is back with nearly every major designer adding the iconic silhouette to its lineup, and Balenciaga is the latest.

Introducing the Balenciaga Carrie Bowling Bag

As all things Y2K continue to trend, the bowler is sticking around, and we are here for it. Crafted with a distinctive curved top, the best bowlers meld a little bit of structure with slouch, and Balenciaga’s new Carrie bag does just that.

Casual and relaxed, the Carrie is sporty yet undeniably chic, and we love its soft, relaxed vibe. While handbag lovers are quick to characterize Balenciaga as loud luxury, this bag is anything but.

Designed with versatility in mind, the bag’s curved, clean lines are accented by a distinct drapey leather front pocket, which teases a discreetly embossed Balenciaga logo. This bag oozes cool, but in a way that is much more minimal and understated— we are here for it.

Is this a hint at what we’ll see in the post-Demna era?

The Details

Like a true bowler, the Carrie Bowling bag offers a roomy interior and the perfect amount of slouch thanks to its grained calfskin leather (it’s also lined in smooth nappa). It features a top-zip with extended zipper pulls that nod to Balencaiga’s archives. Further accents include a leather luggage tag and long handles for shoulder wear.

The newly launched Carrie bag is available in two sizes: medium ($3,290) and small ($2,690), in black, white, and mineral green.
