Many years ago, the structured clutch to have was an Alexander McQueen Skull and Knuckle Clutch. That tiny little bag was unmistakable, and it was seen on nearly every red carpet event, from the celebrity to the local ones equally. In fact, I bought a McQueen clutch myself – it was a bag I really always loved and then I found a version that spoke to me. After Lee Alexander McQueen passed away, the brand remains one of the most recognizable in the fashion world. Yet, when it comes to the bags, there have been some lulls.
But there have also been bags that you may recognize, including The Story Bag as well as the Heroine Bag. There have been others, of course, and the brand hopes to add this new bag to its roster of famed bags. Yesterday, the Alexander McQueen The Curve Bag was released with a group of influencers and VIPs already donning the bag as well as a really nice set of shots showcasing the new design.

New for the Spring/Summer 2021 season, the Alexander McQueen Curve Bag pairs a strong and contemporary design with nods to House elements like the harness silhouette. The bag is quite structured with a moulded body, which is a nice departure from many of the designs we are accustomed to seeing right now. The closure on the top is a double-flap magnetic closure which folds over to create a pure and elliptical form. On the exterior you’ll find the harness element which hugs the bag and all edges are finished by hand and on the inside you’ll find one main compartment with a leather card area as well.

The Curve can be carried by the adjustable strap with a long enough drop to allow for crossbody or over the shoulder wear. While the Alexander McQueen signature appears embossed on the front of the bag, the debossed seal on the back is what I am personally drawn to.
There are quite a few colors, however I am partial to the yellow (after Kaitlin posted about some of her favorite yellow bags, they began to take up a large portion of my handbag loving brain space). There are many other color options as well, from a dreamy blue to a bold green to some pretty bi-color options as well. Dimensions are 7.4 x 9 x 6.3 inches, so this bag falls into the small to medium category. You can pre-order now via Alexander McQueen for $1490.
Gorgeous. Love the color ways and the price. I’d have to try on in store because the round base looks like it would be awkward to carry.
This is too similar to an indie bag brand that produced before Alexander McQueen did. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNFJrOQnGp-/?igshid=fav1qg3exbz3

I just purchased one last night at Saks for $530 dollars in a bright, almost neon pink. I’m already obsessed. I wanted the blue and black one the most, but I can’t afford that price point (although in the handbag world right now, $1650 is actually considered reasonable, as we are all sadly aware)! This is a beautifully made bag – gorgeous design, minimal yet different, and very sleek. I love the artsy vibe it gives off in a low-key way…
It holds the essentials; a medium-sized wallet, iphone 7 (may not fit the larger sizes), lip gloss, a small notebook, and a couple more small items. You can open it (LOVE the unique opening and strong metallic closure), look down, and see all of your things at once.
Love how Sarah Burton is carrying on Alexander McQueen’s legacy. It’s so beautiful.
Have you been able to look at it in person? I’m just wonder what fits – cause isn’t that what really matters these days 🙂
I haven’t yet – but I’ll see if I can check one out!
It looks very similar to this bag:
Good catch but this bag is much more chic. And not that same old boring monogram.
Everyone likes different things, of course. I also find this bag quite attractive. But in five years no one will remember the McQueen bag, yet people will still line up for Louis Vuitton’s monogram canvas. Just a fact.
Yes, it is a fact that many want the monogram but it’s for the “status” associated with it. That’s why there are so many fakes.
Meh. It’s okay that you don’t care for it. To each their own. I constantly express my dislike for many things. ???
I like it! It’s different enough from what’s commonly available right now. A cool structured take on a traditionally soft silhouette.
The two and three toned bags are nice. They look well constructed!
I love them! And reasonably priced too!
I saw this bag in person, and it’s beautiful. However, I found it too stiff to be practical.
