Prada Madras Evening Bag

Ladies and gents, I’ve got a major crush on a Prada bag that seems like it makes little sense to add to my collection but I feel like I may dream about it… often. Over the weekend, the annual Governor’s Island Jazz Age Lawn Party took place in NYC, and while I missed out on stopping by, I closely followed images of friends that partook in this 1920s-themed weekend. If I were there, this Prada Madras Evening Bag is precisely what I would so desperately want to carry along with me.

And as much as I love this bag, I really want to hear what you all think. Before you click after the jump to hear more of what I think, make sure you share your thoughts.

Fill in the Blank: The Prada Madras Evening Bag is ________________.

The vintage feel of the bag comes from the shape of the clutch along with the metallic multicolor woven leather. My attention was immediately drawn to the top frame and the monkey kiss-lock closure. It’s the ideal whimsical touch without being cheesy, and honestly, I just really really want this bag. I run into a problem when it comes to the price, but alas, that is the designer bag world. The most important thing is that this bag is different in every way from what else is being put out there, it will stand out and while it works for 2012 it could easily have passed for a bag being carried in the 1920’s. Price is $2,210 via Neiman Marcus.

I like the look quite a bit,I feel Jay Gatsby is about to enter the lawn! I do hope though that Prada has improved the fabrication of their “Made In India” Madras collection. I found the quality of the spring line to be sub par for Prada.

I don’t like the monkey, it would be nice if not for that…

really cute. I love teh weaving and the metallics. However, I wasn’t a fan of the monkey. I like the concept, but the monkey is too big.
