Dinner or a movie? Which would be your pick for Valentine’s Day and why? Definitely dinner, at a movie there is no conversation.

Any bad Valentine’s Day moments you’d like t share? No, I am happy to say I cannot recall any bad Valentine’s day moments -this may be because I have unconsciously blocked them out. The years I did not have a boyfriend I would go out with my girlfriends and we would have a fabulous time! Valentine’s Day is meant to celebrate with people you love. I believe friendships are just as important to celebrate!

Oh how this brand holds such a special place in my heart. A Kooba bag was one of my very first designer handbag after all. As we gear up for Valentine’s Day, Kooba’s founder, creative director, and recent interviewee, Abbe Held, sheds a little Valentine’s Day insight.

Go out or stay in on Valentine’s Day? I definitely prefer staying in… it’s one of my daughters’ favorite holidays. They will never give up the opportunity to eat sweets!

Which would you prefer on Valentine’s Day, chocolate or flowers? Neither! A Thai Massage is sounding really good to me now. But, if I had to pick one of these two options, it’s definitely dark chocolate.

When we first entered the crowded showroom back in November, we did not quite know what to expect. Our previous experiences of meeting new fashion designers had overall been pleasant ones, we did not think that meeting Steve Dumain and Be Inthavong of Be & D would be any different. Still, knowing the smashing success the two have had since 2004, one could not help but be intimidated just a bit.

If you were making Valentine’s Day dinner for your significant other, what would you make and why?
Maria: Mmm, we are both not so great cooks, yet chicken cordon bleu and roesti (swiss potatoes) is a favourite of my husband, I must try and remember how it was made.
Ignacio: I would make a barbecue and then strawberry cake for dessert, Chiara has a very sweet tooth!

Since you are brother and sister, do you make sure to always get one another a Valentine’s Day gift?
Maria: Not really, yet I do help him find something special for his wife, Chiara! She complains that she can’t always receive a handbag for Christmas, birthday, or Valentine’s, since these should arrive to her at different times (no occasion attached!) and she wants an extra effort in the selection when it’s a special occasion. I agree.

Your favorite Valentine’s Day memory: My favorite memory is waking up next to my husband on our first Valentine’s Day after our wedding and realizing that I would be able to wake up next to my Valentine every year forward (So excited for you both, Meaghan and Vlad!).

Your favorite Valentine’s Day gift: My favorite gift was when my husband Jamie surprised me with an original song he wrote especially for me. Now I love seeing him give this same gift to our daughter, Olivia.

Worst Valentine’s Day: One year, Jamie asked if we could postpone Valentine’s Day. I would rather not celebrate at all than pretend another day is Valentine’s Day.

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day this year: My girl, Olivia is very excited to go on a special date with her parents this Valentine’s Day. We’ve reserved the birdcage at Sweetiepie in the West Village. Olivia will absolutely love the whimsical menu and playful environment.

In November of last year, we had the opportunity to sit down with Ben Harnett of Hayden-Harnett. The young entrepreneur managed to impress us with a savvy business sense, he explained how his young company managed to grow from its establishment with his significant other, to being the globally-operating bag and accessory powerhouse it is today.
