I loved how he described “An LP girl is an individual & not afraid to express herself- She has great style and isn’t afraid to mix it up! She’s not so obvious and in your face with blatant logos and labels (although she does love a little luxe!),.More of understated casual chic I would say-The best of uptown and downtown!” Thats totally me!

I like the part where he saw this petite lady head to toe in leopard print and sign up to take a class with her at F.l.T to make hats. That is random!

I like the part about how he started the Dylan line. It was interesting to hear the how a success had started in the beginning. I also like the typical LP girl part. I am a little surprised that the interview did not include a question about the current economic downturn. I am curious that how the big economic atmosphere has affect the whole fashion industry, and LP, in particular.

My fave parts of the interview -

1 – overall tone. What a down to earth fun and nice guy….and smart! Med school? Architecture? We’re talking not easy to get in. The guy’s got a good head and is so articulate, yet so not a snob.

2 – LOVE that he hates vegetation in the martini!

3 – LOVE LOVE the sirena/samantha reference! HILARIOUS. And, who didn’t love Elizabeth Montgomery’s ‘do?

4- Love how he describes the LP girl – not logo crazy, confident, likes a bit of luxe and loves to mix it up.

I want to meet this guy and thank him – I LOVE MY DYLAN TOTE!

I love the way he ended up with Linea Pelle from many different designing focused areas, such as the interior design, the hats and the greeting card company. It seems like from the very beginning he wanted to be creative and I hope I could have such a varied career path!

I really enjoyed the transition of how he began in med school and somehow ended up designing accessories! I hear stories like that often and its inspiring, especially since I find myself at a crossroads of what I want to do career-wise. Andrew seems to have such an easy-going nature, I enjoyed his description of an LP girl…and love his hair, adorable!

I love to know how designers “fell into” designing. I think great design comes from atypical places–and varied backgrounds.

And references to the Rose Bowl make me sigh for my hometown…. Thanks for the in depth interview.

Well, 2 things – 1) I love the reference to “Bewitched” and Samantha/Serena – I totally GET it! and 2) I grew up in a small town very ear the Rose Bowl and we used to jog around the Rose Bowl, I, too, love going there.

I love Andrew’s description of the “LP” girl…it’s exactly what I had in mind! I also really enjoyed reading the part of Andrew’s background and how he came to be a creative designer. I have found that some of the best designers travel down many different career paths, before they find their calling in fashion design. Also wanted to mention that I love, love, love Linea Pelle and am a huge fan of the new bracelets!

“PB: When it comes to trends and handbags, what are the 2009 must haves for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter?
Andrew: That’s a loaded question, but Color and Hardware! Colors start out rich and deep for Fall 1 and then go bright into Fall 2 & Resort! Dylan lives on in great new silhouettes in a myriad of colors. We also introduce Jacklin and Alex in the same garment washed supple Italian leather. There’s also cool new slouchy Vanessa and studded Serena. Hardware finishes range from matte gold and copper to satin nickel and gunmetal-Everything goes!”

This is the part I love the best out of the entire interview. I mean, it is actually the first time I hear about Linea Pelle. I had no idea what kind of style LP has. After I read this, I understand LP plays with colors, and ornaments the product with hardware. His answer introduces the brand to the people; also gives a brief description about the future trend and collection of LP for Fall ‘09.

I like he fact that Andrew found his passion and followed it. This is what I admire about the US. People follow their passion instead of succumbing to their parents’ wish or dreams for their kids. I don’t own a Linea Pelle bag but the one that was reviewed today looks quite beautiful and I’m tempted!

Awesome interview! There are so many things that caught my attention. I love how he names the bags! Most importantly I was just looking at a bag with fringe today and thinking exactly the same thing that Andrew put into words. Fringe can be classic if worn with the right attitude and done in a classy way.
