The 16 Best Bags of NYFW Fall 2015

This past New York Fashion Week was a bit of a let down on a variety of levels, from the seriously frigid temperatures to the lack of great bags that went down the runway. There were some magnificent collections when it came to the clothing, but overall, the handbags weren’t amazing. Amanda discussed the lack of great American luxury bag brands yesterday, and that issue is prevalent when it comes to recapping the best bags of NYFW for Fall 2015.

Some brands are still solidifying new direction via creative directors or reinvention of the brand aesthetic, while others continue to do much of what they’ve done for years before. Of course, what goes down the runway and what ends up in stores can be very different, so we will have to wait to see what comes out.

In the meantime, here at the 16 best bags of New York Fashion Week.

Why designers trying to design bags so ugly? For me, I just like from this list
Ralph Lauren bag. Jason Wu it is okay and Rag & Bone.

Martha

Overall, pretty uninspiring!

laura

In my opinion, it’s not surprising that were not good bags. Runway bags aren’t usually great. Fashion Week is about the clothes.

Cami

NYFW is definitely Ready To Wear, probably my favorite of all four in that category. Milan and Paris are for handbags. Though I’ll admit I like that Kors bag above and the one with the top handle and zipper on the bottom from the show.

OMG LOVE Ralph Lauren suede bucket bag! Def going on my Fall15 list!

Megs Mahoney Dusil

It’s a take on the Ricky in a bucket bag version, really love it!

ninakix

I love how it becomes so much less fussy than the Ricky

jenjen

If that Tommy Hilfiger bag made the list Fall ’15 is in trouble!

dredre47

First thing I thought when I saw it was “pathetic imitation of Anya Hindmarch”

missarewa

i see nothing remotely appealing

Rosa Lily

Ralph Lauren is about the only one worth admiring on this list.

M Harbor

Ralph Lauren very cute, Tommy Hilfiger bag looks like Hermes Garden Party!

Megs Mahoney Dusil

I really like this rendition of the Ricky! And yes, I can see that with the Tommy bag

Moesha75

OMG. I HAVE to have that Kate Spade clutch. SO cute.

Megs Mahoney Dusil

It is super cute!

I’ll take one of those Michael Kors bags. Most of these are ugly. I do like the Tommy Hilfiger bag because my sons play football and I’m from TEXAS.

The MK bag is nice – and I like the quirkiness of the Tommy bag!

geenak

Most of these bags are rather hideous 🙂

Lisa

This certainly is a sad state of affairs…and did tommy Hilfiger blatantly copy off Anya Hindemarch?

E Cooper

I am having a hard time getting a handle on what is going to be happening with purses this fall. They seem to be all over the map and unfortunately, not very appealing.

S

I agree. This will save me some $$. 🙂

lavinia

I really love the Ralph Lauren suede bucket bag! 🙂

Sparkletastic

I love the Ralph Lauren bag. Other than that it’s either boredom (Coach) or horror (Tommy Hilfiger). Not to excited for Fall ’15. Guess I’ll shop out of my closet.

klynneann

Really like the MK but none of the others grab me at all.

ninakix

I’m really curious about The Row drum bag… The version they posted to Instagram looks better, though, that embroidered (?) strap looks like a nice detail. https://instagram.com/p/zLj7bqDR8o/
It’s very simple though, and I wonder if it will be half as cool looking when it’s not all scrunched up like every model had it on the runway, y’know, if you were to actually use it. Still, their bags are usually beautiful pieces that only look that way when you get to see them IRL… And this one is similar to the Alexander Wang rocco, which I do love just never seem to carry, so maybe the shape doesn’t work for me or something, idk.

Love the Ralph Lauren.. Others? Yawn
