After thousands of you voted in Phase I of our PurseBlog and Botkier Exclusive, it is time we move on to Phase II. The shape/color/hardware options voted on the most from the first round were the popular Sasha Duffle (as seen on Angelina Jolie and other celebs), Distressed Grey, and Gunmetal hardware. To make the PurseBlog + Botkier Limited Edition Handbag even more refined, Botkier has mocked up four potential finished designs with the specs above. The goal was to design a one of a kind bag for this collaboration.

Our exclusive version of the Sasha will be made with luxurious distressed grey Italian washed lambskin with gunmetal hardware. Additional details include custom square rings and buckles, one front pocket, two top handle straps with whip-stitch detail, and a removable top handle strap that converts from a hobo to a satchel.

For Phase II you must vote on the version that you love the most by choosing your favorite mock up! Once we establish the winning bag, Botkier will prototype the bag and soon after you will be able order the exciting PurseBlog + Botkier Limited Edition Handbag.

Voting runs from February 2nd through February 14th. Please vote to take part in this exclusive partnership!

I voted for braided! I think it adds the perfect addition that will help the bag stand apart without being over the top!

  • Leah

This is such an exciting collaboration! Thanks for letting us be a part of it… braided all the way!

  • D

I like the braiding as well. My only other suggetsion which is not offered in the above pictures would be to have a detachable long shoulder strap instead of the longer hobo strap. If that were done, I think the strap would fall better without bunching if one were to carry the bag by its shorter satchel handles. Also if considering making the strap detachable, perhaps you could also make the longer strap adjustable so the bag can be worn cross-body as well since that is a popular style to wear right now.

    • sfitting

although I voted for plain, I agree with your other suggestion. I don’t get the placement of the removable shoulder strap. It will make the bag VERY strange looking if one was to remove the strap and carry it by the handles. (I personally wish they would do away with the handles all together and not make it a removable strap)

      • Amanda R

Actually it works kind of differently. It’s hard to imagine, but instead of detaching the hobo strap, you can fold it under the bag and it turns into a really cute satchel!

  • @gigi8269

I voted for the “plain”…somtimes simpler is better.. :-) @gigi8269

I have a feeling we will end up with plain or braided. Braided is just slightly altered

    • Kristy

Ditto that – I voted plain! I feel that the simplest option will get the most mileage.

  • Jacqueline Suzanne

    I voted plain!!

  • Bag Brag!

All my girls who say PLAIN, HANDS UP!!!

The bag has too much going on already and plain is the best way to go as it will give focus to the leather.

    The bag addicts have spoken!

Oh, and another question. Will this bag have a magnetic button closure or a zipper closure, just curious..

I chose the studded option, but really I’d love to see one with studs AND fringe. Too much? Maybe, but I’m envisioning a sort of rocker-meets-boho vibe.

  • Jennifer

I voted plain too-keep it simple & classy. Less is more & stylish for years to come. Lets not put any details on it that would ‘date’ it. Thanks for letting us contribute! =)

  • Stephanie

I agree with D … I have a small sasha and would use it a lot more if the detachable strap was long enough to be worn cross-body … I love the braided best and the plain is a close second … can anyone provide the dimensions of this bag? The original Sasha came in three sizes. Thanks!

  • Linda

While the braided is nice, I think plain would be best. Keeping it simple and fresh is best!

  • 19yearslater

I like all of them but the fringe, I voted for the braided. It ads just a bit of a nice touch without going too over-the-top for most women.

  • Anna Cooperberg Gzz.

I’m so excited for this to come out… go braids! I think the braids add an awesome little youthful alteration in there… ever so slightly flower-child-esque but the grey lambskin and gunmetal hardware makes it chic rather than totally boho.

  • Mitzi

    Stud, stud, STUD please! :)

    • skyla

Me too I’m a sucker for anything with studs on.

  • Suzanne

It was a toss up between braided and plain as sometimes more is less. But I think the braided straps would look cool and make it special. Please no studs! I am soooo sick of them!

  • Summer

I think the plain will result in a classic bag that will be wearable for years to come!

  • Cate

I voted for the braided–it’s not too over the top!

  • Joe

The quilted looks great in the mock up, futuristic… but might not look so hot in real life!

  • Karin bag4bag

I voted for the studs, probably b/c I just purchased a Rebecca Minkoff bag with studs and I am loving it !! I do like all of them anyway, except not the fringe!!! Love the color.

  • nessa

I voted for plain… personally, I don’t care for any other details on the design of this bag.

  • Antonia

I voted studded but braided is fine too. I prefer something a little different than the original. The Sasha is one of the best designs ever made-love Botkier!

  • petitemum

I voted for the braided, classic!

  • katie

I like the studded one :)

  • melissa

    This is sooo exciting!!!

  • samamfee

I vote for the studded one.:)

  • WANIE

    Studs for me!!!

  • shop2drop1

I liked the braided one. How fun!

  • becky

    i voted stud! love it!

  • Kai

    Braided one! Love braid details!!!

  • Kellybag

plain for me! I love the clean look of the bag.

  • Holly

I voted for plain because I think that less is MORE….

  • Voodoo

    Mmmmmmmmmmmm braided please!

  • Dena

I voted braided. It’s a;; about the details for me!

  • Jean

I voted plain. I will reach for it more! I always think braided stuff loses it’s shape over time. Besides, I like plain better.

  • mimi

I voted studded, I hope the studs are gunmetal as well. I’m dying for an edgy Botkier. The Venice line disappointed me. :(

  • Loquita

Braided all the way!! I also like the quilted as well, and would go for the plain, too…but I think that the studs and the fringe will become dated very quickly, which goes against the whole Sasha design to begin with.

  • Jamie

    I like the fringe :)

  • Dew drops

    I like the plain..

  • tori

    Voted for Quilted!

  • cam

i voted for braided (i sometimes like to fondle the handles when i’m impatient or bored, so texture is nice), but plain would be fab as well!

  • Bianca

I loved the braiding! I didn’t read the comments prior to voting and I assumed everyone would opt for the studs :) Yey for the braiding!

  • Marian

I voted for the braided. It’s a nice touch, without being too much!

  • Sandy

I like the plain one better. Clean and sleek.

  • Tonya

    I voted for the braided.

  • Mena

    another one for braided here

  • Cheryl

Like the braid but feel that the plain will be more useful. So the plain it is…any iea of the price point?

  • ilovepurse007

    I vote for studs, luv!

  • Z

I voted braided. I think it adds just enough without looking too trendy.

  • meemee

    Voted for the plain bag!!

  • Andrea

Plain is the way to go! It will be much more classic that way.

  • PinkTulip

I love the studded–it has a nice amount of “zush.” I love the braided mock up too, but I wish there were more embellishments to the bag.

  • Maggy

LOVE the quilting. Tired of fringe, studs, braiding, blah, blah, blah …

This would be something new in a more subtle, interesting detail. Isn’t Botkier known for cutting edge? Might be the new trend.

  • Jan

I am voting (if it’s not too late for the bottom right bags. To me less is more. Plus a lot can be done with the leathers and finishes used.

  • Elyse

amazing bag! way to go PurseBlog for hooking us up with this amazing opportunity (fb)

  • gertrude

    i vote for plain,
i have it in rose pink :)
