I was already flummoxed when I saw that Reese Witherspoon had added a third Fiamma to her enormous designer handbag collection, and now she’s gone and acquired a fourth. At this rate, she will eventually own all of the world’s Fiammas.
If money were no object, how many different versions of the same bag would you buy? Am I overly thrifty or pragmatic for thinking that two or three should definitely be able to meet most of my handbag needs? When I picture my over-the-top dream handbag collection, it’s probably 70% ridiculous designer clutches, for fancy events (but mostly for my own viewing pleasure), and then a couple of nice crossbody bags for everyday and a few oversized totes for my travel needs. Your mileage may vary.

Admittedly, I’m not up to speed on all of RW’s Fiamma bags, but does she have the laser cut calfskin version — I saw several variations of the Fiamma at the flagship store in Florence, but this laser cut version was the most striking (same price as the green model RW is holding in this thread). It also comes as a tote, which I would love except the handles are just a tad to short to wear over your shoulder if you’ve got a coat on and it doesn’t come with a shoulder strap. An easy fix, wish Ferragamo would include a shoulder strap! (the photos don’t do this bag justice, you have to see it in person to appreciate how striking this laser cut bag is)
From that particular angle, the Tom Ford looks like someone carrying a chain with a big padlock. A big, expensive, wellcrafted padlock.
I’ve tried on a few Fiammas but have never come across this green version. I think it’s the prettiest color I’ve seen.
I do not like the Fiamma bag at all.
I think, that was the point…. to design a bag that looked like, something one’s grandmother carried back, in the day.
Thank God I’m not the only one.
I’m thinking Ferragamo is gifting these bags to Reese. Just think of all the publicity they are getting? As for Goyard St. Louis totes, are they worth the investment? Monogram or not? I’m thinking of gifting one to myself this season.
