Fashion Month has come to its official close, and though we’re always sad to see one of the most inspiring times for the industry wind down, it also means that we’re able to return to our regularly scheduled programming! Over last month, we’ve covered the comings and goings of fashion month from the best street style in New York, Milan and Paris to reviews of collections from Givenchy and Louis Vuitton to Chanel and more. While we’ve always got a pretty good idea of what’s trending and what’s up and coming, it’s during fashion month that all of our predictions are squared away. While the runways did showcase a fair variety of newness (the florals at Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and Dior being one of them), it was impossible to ignore that some of the handbag world’s biggest trends right now continued to reign supreme. There were tons of chunky chains, hobos galore, and a slew of pillow-like, puffy, padded bags seen throughout. The trends we’ve loved (and loathed) remain locked and loaded through 2022. Naturally, Bottega Veneta, who arguably is partly responsible for two of these trends, made the roundup, as did bags from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Loewe, who is new to the pillow bag game this season. Take a look below at some of the trends we spotted during the fall 2022 fashion month.
The Fall 2022 Runways Proved These Major Handbag Trends Are Here to Stay
Hold on to your chunky chains!
Never thought of purchasing an orange bag before but love that Loewe Puzzle bag!
I have a crossbody in the most luscious color of orange. I also never thought I’d buy an orange bag until I tried it. I wear it everywhere since it adds a pop of color and, for me, orange is the new neutral. Love 🍊
I was thinking the same thing!!
i hate the padded and puffy trend
Re florals, Ferragamo has a few bags that (IMO) are much more attractive and fresh than Louis Vuitton’s. https://www.ferragamo.com/shop/eu/en/top-handles/the-studio-751240–24 and https://www.ferragamo.com/shop/eu/en/mini-bag-woman/034-751081–24
I love Ferragamo! The bag featured here is gorgeous.
Ferragamo is sadly underrated
I was just about to log in to make the same comment… even 4 months later! People have forgotten what so many fashion houses specialized in at their founding before expanding to full collections. The brands that started out with leather still tend to be the best with it!
Love the Loewe with chain strap and the Valentino.
I think Loewe wins this line up.
