Much to the dismay of many followers, I am drawn to designer raffia bags. I understand why my penchant for raffia bags hits a cord with so many because, with designer bag prices consistently rising, it seems silly to spend thousands on a simple material like raffia.
When I first made a roundup of the best Raffia bags for summer, most were over $1,000, if not over $2,000. Sure, that may be some of what I like, but for practicality’s sake, it didn’t speak to all of you. Also, a side note: I may like it, but it doesn’t speak to me and my finances either.
For that reason, I am back for those who love raffia bags just like I do but aren’t willing to spend more than $500 on a trendy, seasonal design. Here is a more practical roundup with 18 of the best raffia (and straw and wicker) bags under $500 for summer!

Great selection. All (aside from the MJ) much more attractive than the LOEWE and YSL bags recently featured. I love the escargot bag! ❤️
I heard you all loud and clear and agree that expensive raffia is silly in many ways (even if I keep loving them). These options are far more reasonable and still allow you to have fun with the trend!
The Escargot and the Tortoise bags are ADORABLE, and the price point is actually making me consider getting them. Thank you for sharing these, Megs!
I also love the Tortoise bag – half tempted to get it myself! Glad you enjoyed too!
I find Raffia bags too scratchy to carry, but admittedly some of these are too cute with fabulous price points.
DeMellier London has my favorite raffia bags – most under $500!
