While Tod’s isn’t a brand we cover as regularly here as other luxury bag brands, it’s one we (admittedly) should be paying more attention to. Tod’s is a well known brand that makes great bags, and since creative director Walter Chiapponi took the reigns in late 2019, the brand’s aesthetic has slowly been changing. Priding itself on Italian tradition and timeless, clean lines, Chiapponi has stayed true to the brand at its core while revving up the brand’s more fashion-y appeal. Though the brand is mainly known for its cool, yet casual pieces, with each new collection the brand takes more and more risks, perfectly melding timeless luxury with a cool-girl aesthetic.
For fall 2021 Tod’s debuted a range of bags, mainly focusing on shoulder bags and hobo silhouettes, and all mostly nondescript, bearing little branding. The brand’s classic T does appear throughout the collection, on lush leather shoulder bags with an intricate leather handle, while other silhouettes feature embossed leather logos or hardware etched with Tod’s branding. Clean lines and exaggeratedly large, softly constructed bags are featured as well. These include a pillowy leather hobo and slouchy and unstructured shearling hobos in varying neutral shades.
The brand’s newest bag, introduced this season, is the T Timeless bag featuring a raw-cut profile, oversized proportions, and a drawstring closure, the bag is shown in a pretty light pink hue. Another notable shape is a smaller crossbody bag that is adorned with distinctive, oversized gold hardware and a flap closure. View the bags below.

Oh wow. I love so many of these! I’ve been hoping to for big bags to come back around.
Even for the ones that aren’t my style (which are most), these all look beautiful.
That pink pleated bag looks really cute. I’m sure it would look lovely in a nice neutral shade as well.
That one is my favorite of them all.
Likewise. It really stood out to me.
You can just SEE the leather quality, beautiful!
Wish the straps were longer for crossbody. Would be great feminine messenger bags.
Most of these bags are huge! They would carry everything I own plus the kitchen sink. Who needs to carry this much?
LOL – many of us, when we actually have to leave our homes again for an entire day [tongue firmly planted in cheek…]. Seriously though, speaking only for myself, the ritual of choosing and moving into a bag for the day is quite rusty after this year of working remotely. The huge ones may break a lot of backs, yet they’ll also prevent a lot of morning decision fatigue ?
I like the pleated bag. As for the others, it would be impossible to find anything in a bag that is so deep yet skinny.
Your entire arm would have to go in the bag to retrieve something at the bottom.
They hurt my back just to look at them!
Some of these bags are beautiful but I must admit I didn’t even know Tod’s was still a thing. Who’s their customer??
They fly under the radar so you can buy second-hand ones at great prices (ssssssssshhhhhhhhhh)
You make an excellent point!
That’s actually a great question. I admire them for their quality, but I’ve never purchased. My limited budget of 1 million can only purchase so many bags. (I’m kidding, bad joke. I’m poking fun at the uber wealthy). ?
These are statement making bags, from the size to the hardware. The oversized styles are for show, not necessarily to carry everything. Leather looks lux. I have three Tod’s handbags, which are complimented every time carried.
Wow! I am super impressed with the quality and the look of these bags. I’ve recently become a Tod’s fan ( I now own 3 of their bags) and I will say that the quality is incredible. Every stitch, every corner, and every piece of hardware is absolute perfection. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these new styles for fall!
I own two Tod’s bags and adore each one. But, these are a bit ridiculous.
Beautiful. The quality of the leather and production is clear.
