Mini Review: Céline Luggage Tote

Bag 5 of #stayhomewithbags

Are there certain bags in your collection that you specifically remember the thrill of the chase? I do, and this was one of them for me. We were living in NYC at the time and the Céline Luggage Tote was all the rage. The minute I saw it in Cobalt Blue, I knew I needed it: this was MY COLOR. Slight problem; finding one was near impossible. This was pre-kids when I had much more free time and less worries, so I started going to different stores and inquiring and then I went to Barneys NY (RIP) and put my name on the list there. The sales associate said “I think you might get lucky”. And he was right.

A few days later he called me back and I hopped in a cab to get uptown to see my beauty. I remember other people shopping in the store that saw my bag being brought out and gasping at it as well! She was a stunner, and she was mine. If you ask me, I’ll tell you this was the best color ever produced by Céline for its luggage totes. The leather is really thick but also soft, which makes it prone to scratching. Aside from that, this bag is pristine.

Over time, the Céline Luggage Tote became so big that I found it played out and I retired my Luggage Totes into my closet, rarely carrying them again. However, when Phoebe Philo left the brand, #oldceline became coveted and new again, so I am thrilled I never parted with this beauty.

Which Luggage Totes do you have, I know so many of you have them?! I saw a few pre-loved Cobalt Blue Luggage Totes for sale when I searched through resale sites, but they were sites I was not as familiar with, so I didn’t want to send you that way. Fashionphile has a great assortment of Luggage Totes that I recommend you check out.
