Loving Lately: The Mansur Gavriel Saddle Bag

Roses are red, violets are blue if this bag was a flower I'd pick it too

I’ve written about my love for Mansur Gavriel before. I’ve yet to add a Lady Bag to my ever-growing collection, but I revisit my love for MG each and every time I use my bucket bag. While it’s starting to look a lot more worn as I’ve had it for a few years now, I still enjoy using it. The leather has aged beautifully, and I love remembering how excited I was when I finally got my hands on her!

Recently I was able to test out one of Mansur Gavriel’s newest bags: The Saddle Bag in Flamma. The Saddle Bag and The Mini Saddle Bag were released for Spring 2017, and when I saw this style, I loved it immediately, and the red especially spoke to me. I have always wanted a red saddle bag—there’s just something about the combination I adore. Maybe it’s the Americana feel it gives me, or the pop it provides to any outfit, but either way I’m always drawn to a saddle bag if it comes in red. In my younger years I was obsessed with getting a Chloé Mini Marcie in red, but these days I would kill for an MG Saddle Bag in Flamma!

This bag is extremely functional, with an adjustable strap that can be worn cross-body or over the shoulder. The Italian calf leather is so soft and rich. From my experience, Mansur Gavriel’s calf leather does scratch, but it ages beautifully and adds character to the bag. I am seriously just dying for this bag in red! The design features two inside compartments, as well as an interior patch pocket and a gold turnlock closure. Overall dimensions of the Mansur Gavriel Saddle Bag are 8.25” x 9.25” x 3,” and it retails for $895 via Mansur Gavriel or NET-A-PORTER.
