Louis Vuitton first gave us a glimpse at its Spring 2019 bags back on the runway at its fashion show during PFW. Creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere wowed us with unique new shapes including super-tiny versions of the ever popular Petite Malle as well as an egg-shaped purse, seen below in both monogram canvas and what appears to be a gorgeous greenish-teal crocodile skin. New versions of both the Petite Boite Chapeau as well as the Twist Bag, which look more like paintings in the MoMa than handbags, appeared as well. Plus, the ever-present belt bag trend is seen amongst Vuitton’s newest bags, appearing in a Reverse Monogram and classic Monogram Canvas combo finished with a flap closure and eye-catching new hardware. Take a look at the images below and view video footage from the campaign as well at louisvuitton.com

From ultra-mini to spherical and sleek this collection covers it all
They couldn’t be more hideous. UGH!
I love Louis Vuitton’s clothes but the bags never do anything for me.
Lol I love the subtle Gabriella Hearst knockoff.
Hat in slide 9 too funny
I love most of the bags here, they’re gorgeous. But I do kinda hope that the one in slide 13 starts getting called the Dinosaur Egg bag.
I look at the Egg bag and immediately think of Game of Thrones – I expect a baby dragon to be hatched!
Or Beetle Bag!
UGH I want that bag in #11 (the reverse monogram one). Damn you LV – always making me want your stuff! I also really want a Petit Malle even though they are soooo impractical.
Agree on the bag in slide 11! I love that combo.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I like the fanny pack.
Going back to hide now.
You’re not alone. I actually have the bum bag, which I use when I work as a global event director b/c it’s so handy and doesn’t smash the girls like a cross body bag would. I thought people would make fun of me, but it was the exact opposite, I got a lot of compliments, how cool it was, etc. 🙂 there are more bum bag lovers out there than you think 😉
ha! Don’t hide, I like it too. Though I think it’s the reverse monogram/mongoram canvas combo that I really like. It’s also seen on the flap bag in slide 11 which is a bit more practical!
I like it too. But I have to say, I love how they have updated the name and started calling it a belt bag…. like in the 80/90 ‘s it was OK to call it a fanny pack but now… oh la la, it’s a “belt bag” LOL
I love that fanny pack too 🙂
I couldn’t get past the clothes, to see the bags. A horror show!
True! The clothes and wallpaper were so busy I had to really look to find the bags! Not the best marketing technique.
I know. This blog has been posting a lot of old s**t. It’s annoying.
They’ve always been way slower on the uptake than the forum. Perhaps that’s purposeful? To get more forum members? Just speculating!
Nah, not purposeful at all – I always say the forum members are the most knowledgeable handbag lovers out there!
We try to be on top of covering releases as soon as possible, but we aren’t always breaking the news. We’ll work on it and I am thinking to add a “tips” email for anyone to suggest coverage they’d like to see so you can write in if there’s something you think we’re missing too.
Why do I suddenly feel the urge to go shopping for an ostrich egg?
BTW the one on the right in #10, is it a flying saucer or a fortune cookie?
This is one of NG’s best collections in my opinion. The clothes are fantastic. I also love the balance between historic models being redesigned and reintroduced (like the Dauphine) and new bags (like the Egg Bag!). The mini Stratos suitcase is my favorite!! As for the ad campaign itself, I find it a bit close to what Gucci does… flowery wallpaper, armchairs, and window curtains… In general, I always prefer the “Spirit of Travel” campaigns.
Isn’t that a new City Steamer size as well? That has to be smaller!
Why the chromosomes on the pink bag in #7??
These three crosses were on the hard-sided luggage specially made for Albert Kahn.
Ah, okay…. still looks like chromosomes!
LV is turning into Gucci.
Very well said but again they compete for the same millennials market. Everything’s about the number these days
I like the bag in the first pic with the LV logo but that’s it. The clothes look terrible and very tacky.
Nice bags, nothing wrong with them, but nothing too original either. I feel like every Designer is using someone else’s details, shapes and hardware. Instead of setting the trends, they are following them.
Give us some examples!
Just no !
Have been eagerly awaiting release of the mini-suitcase bags in slide 12. So adorable but hope to get them out of my system as probably impractical for me. I like cross-body vs. hand held bags so can’t see holding by handle and the chain seems flimsy.
Sorry to say, but these bags are just too tiny for my needs. Also, the vast majority of the clothes pictured are way-out-there, and not at all to my liking.
Meh. Like others, the clothing is so loud you can’t see the bags. The tweed bag looks like they stole it from Chanel and slapped an LV on the front clasp. I like the materials in the belt bag but will NEVER wear a belt bag again — too ’80s and not in a nice way! Overall: Not horrid bags mainly — but not appealing enough to buy, IMO.
I like the reverse monogram bag in #11, but I think it’s about $2750.00? I know this isn’t as much as Chanel or Hermes, but I wish these houses would create something beautiful and functional for less than $1,000. Wishful thinking! 🙂
I can’t even look at the pics, they are so crowded with patterns and not in a soothing way.
The backgrounds are very beautiful and luxurious, they really drive the point home that everything about the 1980’s was a monstrosity.
Not loving this collection loud and far to 80’s for me.
What is the style/model name of the Egg shaped bag?
that egg bag is glorious
Obsessing over #9! Does anyone know the name & price yet?
What are you supposed to do with a mini bag that is too small to house your phone?
LV Lockme Ever……Look familiar? Well crafted hybrid or sad imitation, I cant decide.
Too many shades of Gucci. I find it all visually confusing. Like the bags in slide 2. Number 6 belt bag though is like some weird LV/Chanel hybrid. I’m just confused by it all.
