Once considered a different echelon from the most notable designer bag brands, Loewe now holds one of the top spots in the fashion world, which is thoroughly deserved. With prices rising, what we expect, as consumers, has also risen, and one brand that produces aesthetically delightful designs while crafting with quality materials and construction is Loewe.
While most of us know the Puzzle Bag best and have become Squeeze fans (this bag just hit the site again after months of being sold out), the family of bags from Loewe that I find most alluring may be the Flamenco family.
Though Creative Director Jonathan Anderson redesigned the Flamenco in 2015, it was first launched in the 1980s. The name is derived from the Flamenco skirt effect, when knots on either side are pulled to close the bag.
The leather panels show no edges, so this bag is seamlessly clean and elegant.

In fact, the Flamenco collection is one that I have raved about for everyone, from my mom, who carries hers for everything from casual daily use in addition as her wedding guest accessory companion, to fellow bag fanatics who ask me about a great crossbody bag that is both luxurious and casual.
The newest addition to the iconic Flamenco family was released today. This bag, aptly named the Loewe Flamenco Purse, rounds out a new generation of bags in this cornerstone family.
Fresh New Details
What makes this bag? First, the supple nappa lambskin looks as inviting as it actually feels.
I find the leather incredibly thick yet malleable and soft to the touch. The knots on either drawstring closure are defining elements of the Flameco line, and this bag has that. It allows for the ruched top closure, also a signature of the family of bags.
One new standout element is the detachable and adjustable leather shoulder strap and a leather-woven donut chain with a jewel-like Anagram engraved Pebble.
If this feels familiar, it is. The quickly beloved Squeeze bag has a similar donut chain and Pebble finishing touch that characterizes the bag (however, the Squeeze chain strap features metal only, not leather-woven details).
Because of the adjustability of the strap, this bag can be worn over the shoulder, carried as a clutch, or slung crossbody.
There are two sizes, medium and mini, and four seasonal colors: Emerald Green, Dark Burgundy, Sahara, and Black. If you are looking for a new bag to your collection that checks many boxes, this new rendition may suit you perfectly.

Going to Madrid in May and I look forward to checking this out at the flagship store. I didn’t like that they added the gold letters to the Flamenco but it works with the gold chain.
There they will treat you great and you can touch the nappa skin which is wonderful!!
I have a Flamenco that I bought from a charming SA in Lisbon last year and I love it. I doubt I will leave the Madrid store empty handed.

I’ve always loved this bag, but never purchased. Now, it’s even more stunning & I may not be able to hold myself back, but what color? They are all delicious!
Tried these on in the LV Bellagio boutique the week they were released & am OBSESSED with the medium black. The gold donut chain w/ matching interwoven leather strikes the perfect amount of contrast without being overly done.
And omg the leather…was so obsessed I couldn’t put it down & ended up carrying it the entire time I was shopping lol.
The leather is so divine on this bag – and the chain strap is really nice! I know it seems like a small thing, but the two different strap options completely change the bag and I love it!
