It’s hard to believe that Loewe introduced the Puzzle Bag only ten years ago.
The bag, which found immediate footing and a cult following, solidified the brand in the handbag world as a contender and a must-have icon that breaks the barrier of the ordinary.
Jonathan Anderson introduced the Loewe Puzzle Bag with his first collection for the House, one that defined his tenure at the helm. The first iteration, and all that followed, showcased ingenuity and playfulness in the design, with geometric lines and pieces of leather placed together meticulously to form a puzzle.
To celebrate the landmark occasion, Loewe released 19 re-editions of some of the most beloved animations from the past decade of the Puzzle alongside a celebratory new design. This limited edition assortment was aptly named the Puzzle 10 collection.
A Closer Look at the Puzzle 10 Collection
We wanted to revisit some of our favorite Puzzle iterations and share them through our lens.
If you remember one of the first iterations, this Puzzle Bag will hold a very special place in your memory. We first saw this multi-pink-hued Puzzle on the FW15 Women’s Show runway. This bag was defining, with its cuboid shape and different leather pieces, calfskin suede in mixed pink tones, coming together on each panel.
The originality with which Loewe’s Spanish atelier and Creative Director collaborated to create this bag was monumental, and it can be noted as the one that started it all. Fast-forward ten years from its first introduction, and it’s just as relevant and coveted as when we first saw it.
Paula’s Ibiza, Re-edition
Loewe’s penchant for artist collaborations pushed boundaries and brought unique buzz to the brand. Seasonally, one of the most anticipated drops from Loewe is its Paula’s Ibiza collection, and the Puzzle is brought back in exciting interpretations with each new series.
Both the FW17 Paula’s Ibiza collection Parrot Puzzle and the FW21 Paula’s Ibiza Kiwi Puzzle have been re-editioned in this drop.

Rounding out the group we chose to focus on is another iconic Puzzle, the SS17 Women’s Puzzle 10 Cloud. This collection made big waves in the fashion world, with the cloud motif being used on everything from bags to clothing and beyond.
This very light-hearted approach to the design made it a true classic icon. Every version speaks to different styles and wants, while the classics remain cornerstones of the Puzzle line.
Puzzle 10: Additional Details
All of the bags in the Puzzle 10 collection are marked with special touches. Each bag features a commemorative metal plaque on the interior to denote its limited edition collection.

Another addition is the two Loewe balloon charms that come with each bag. As you know, the house of Loewe keeps its designs spirited, and this adds one more unique element. Each Puzzle 10 re-edition comes in a bespoke box finished with a gold foil Loewe Anagram alongside a special-edition jigsaw puzzle inspired by the bag inside.
Having Loewe include a line of charms that coincides with each bag feels all-encompassing. Loewe’s knack for whimsy and mischievousness continues with the Puzz Charms, one denoted for every Puzzle 10 design.
These are sold separately, so you can add them to their matching bag or choose a standalone charm for any other design.

The kiwis picture is so fun! But the parrot one I love the most
I like the way these bags are so artistically displayed!
Thanks! I had excellent help by our stylist, and we had some fun with this shoot in our studio.
The parrot one is so CUTEEE, the charms also cutiee.
I like the Puzzle bag but not a fan of any of these. I guess I just prefer the original versions without the gimmicks. I guess bags are too expensive IMO to invest in a version like this.
I need more Puzzle 10 years re-edition. As Ken Price or Macintosh version. Ah and confetti new bag!!
Fun ❤️❤️❤️
The Puzz charms are SO CUTE. Just a little guy 🥹 Luxury character charms are usually not my brand of cute (Vivienne, or the Kelly Doll) but these definitely are.
I don’t like these, too trendy IMO. I did just buy the biker buckle puzzle- classic with a slight twist…will go the distance!
The cloud one 😍
I still think it looks like a lunch bag lol
