Givenchy has been teasing its newest handbag hard since it first gave shoppers a look at its Pre-Fall 2016 collection in January, and we finally have pricing information and a name for the design debut: the Givenchy Horizon Bag, which so far comes in two sizes and starts at $2,490.
The Horizon is a simple tote-style satchel with a banded detail at the handle base, which serves as the primary design detail. Measurements aren't available in the pre-order information that's currently available for the new bag's two sizes, but the small retails for $2,490 and the medium retails for $2,690; both include optional shoulder straps.
I've been very excited about this bag since I saw it in the brand's press materials six months ago, but now that it's here, I feel a bit underwhelmed. Most of the pictures I had seen previously were taken at an angle, where the side bulging of the belt detail wasn't apparent, and now that I've seen the bag head-on in several versions, it bothers me a little bit. That might be because I wasn't expecting it and I'll eventually get used to the proportion, but right now, I'm feeling more skeptical than I had before.
Are you feeling it, or will you wait to see more pics? Check out the currently available pre-orders below.
