Celine Watch Me Work Bag

I normally prefer to believe that I am independent-minded and stylistically unique. If you ask me who I think the best-dressed starlet is, I’d tell you I don’t know, because they all look the same anyway. Well, that’s not entirely true. There is one person (well, TV character) out there that has my heart, and I’m ready to admit it.

Gossip Girl’s Serena van der Woodsen (nee Blake Lively) could wear a paper bag over her head and I would fall rear-over-teakettle trying to determine the grocer from whence it came, in hopes of being the first to acquire one for my very own. She could wear Crocs and I’d be on my laptop, ordering them from…well, from wherever it is that one ACQUIRES Crocs…immediately. If Serena is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

When the Gossip Girl season starts in September, I’ll be bringing out a weekly roundup (since it’s easily the most fashionable show on television), as I do now with Project Runway. For now, though, we’ll have to settle for paparazzi photos of the actors, filming on-location all over New York City. Personally, I think Chuck Bass is the most entertaining in these sorts of photos since his outfits are the most outlandish of the cast, but we’ll get into that in more depth after the season starts.

Today, I bring you my favorite fictional fashionista, Serena van der Woodsen, sporting the Celine Watch Me Work bag in what appears to be grey leather. I’ve talked much about grey in the past few weeks, so today, I’m going to have to show you the version of this bag that I believe to be truly glorious: the red patent one. Its lines are simple and clean, a look for which Celine is known, but the punky material, chain (anyone think it’s a tad Stam-y?) and hardware put it over the top and into the ‘covetable’ category. Also, that name – “Watch Me Work” reminds me of a club-banging hip-hop anthem, territory that Celine has certainly never trod before. If this bag is any indication, though, they seem to feel right at home. Buy through Net-A-Porter for $2,100.
