Blake Lively is the face of Chanel’s advertising campaign for their new Mademoiselle handbag. Honestly, the Gossip Girl star and long-legged blond bombshell is a perfect fit to be an ambassador for the brand.

Thanks for the update! I like the ad and love Blake for the campaign. Funny that you chose the words “long-legged blond bombshell” when there’s no pics of her legs in the ad and I’m not sure legs help sell purses…blond bombshell and sophistication certainly, Helps portray the youthful feeling the brand embodies.
You are right – no legs in this photo, but that is immediately where my mind goes when I think of Blake Lively!

I equate Chanel with style, class, and sophistication. As far as I’m concerned Blake has neither.
Another dull picture from Blake. Same facial expressions that she has on any other magazine spread and in her acting.

I’m sorry, but I don’t Blake is a fit for Chanel. While I won’t deny that she’s a gorgeous girl, I don’t think she has that same class and allure that former Chanel ambassadors had (Audrey Tatou, Kiera Knightley). Actually, I much prefer Chanel’s perfume endorsers to the girls they pick to shill their handbags (Blake, Lily Allen).

Blake has a great body just as she is. Why did they insist on Photoshopping her arm to the point of waif-ish ridiculousness? Sick of all these magazine ads trying to convince us that celebs we see every day in online/candid photos are 20+ lbs lighter than they really are (they’re thin to begin with!)
That was my first thought looking at her arm, too.
i’m actually disappointed that they chose blake lively as the ambassador for their mademoiselle line. chanel stands for classics and timelessness and this is even more pronounced with the mademoseille. sadly, i don’t think blake fits that because although she is beautiful and hot right now (and those legs do go on forever) i think that her career would not flourish that much once gossip girl ends or once she gets older. just my two cents.
Yes I agree…I would have liked it had they chosen someone older and more seasoned say Kate Winslet or even Nicole Kidman.

I have to agree w/ Mochababe73. The bag is cute but not really all that. I don’t think Blake is Chanel-material. As a matter of fact I don’t even see why peoplelove her aside from her legs, boobs and hair. Her looks are boring and old. She’s a one trick pony. Heck, she looks a bit like a pony.
Not a fan of hers or celebs as spokespersons.

Firstly Chanel should never choose a ‘face’ that has had botox or alterations, which many older ‘famous’ faces have had. IMO a previous choice for one of their perfume campaigns was a disgrace. Why not celebrate the line with fresh and real and now !

I thnk she’s perfect for the brand! Gorgeous, fresh, classy. I know she’s not on the “classiest” show, but she seems like a classy and fresh person because (at least me) I haven’t heard anything really controversial or un-classy gossip-wise.
