Loving Lately: M2Malletier’s Mini Collectionneuse is the Velvet Bag You Need Now

Velvet with a bonus: you'll probably be the only one of your friends to carry it

A few weeks ago, Amanda and I were procrastinating by distracting each other via GChat. “I don’t really like velvet bags,” I fiercely proclaimed. Fast forward like three days, and I found myself falling for, well, velvet bags. Back from last year, velvet is arguably one of the biggest (if not the biggest) trends for Fall 2017. Every designer from Gucci and YSL to Prada and Valentino has some iteration of velvet in their fall lineup. Still, it wasn’t until recently that I considered getting a velvet bag.

I decided that if I’m going to do velvet, I’m going to do it in a big way and different from everyone else. That’s why I’ve fallen for the M2Malletier Mini Collectionneuse in Velvet. I absolutely adore this bag. From the mini chain strap to the brand’s signature hardware detailing, I am completely head over heels in love. This bag in black is a no-brainer, but I’m kinda digging the marigold even more. Marigold is huge for fall as well, and being that I wear so much black, this bag is the perfect way to add a pop of golden color to my fall wardrobe.

This bag is small, but it comfortably fit everything I would need for a night out, making this a great evening bag. I comfortably carried my small wallet, iPhone 6S, a makeup compact and a lipgloss. I had a little room to spare, so you could probably also fit a small container of mints or gum. The overall dimensions of this bag are 6″ x 5.5″ x 2.5″. Snag one for yourself via SSENSE for $1,350.
