Burberry’s Pre-Fall 2019 Bags Feature a Whole Lot of Logo Love

and there's only one check bag to be had...

Back in September, Riccardo Tisci, former Givenchy powerhouse responsible for many big bag hits for the brand such as the Antigona and the Pandora, debuted his first collection as creative director at Burberry on the Spring 2019 runway. The collection was a far cry from what Burberry fans had come to expect, and for some, it was a welcomed change. Tisci debuted a new ‘B’ logo hardware, which was used throughout the Spring 2019 collection, and has carried over into Pre-Fall 2019, which is Tisci’s second collection for the brand. Though Tisci is still a relatively fresh face to fans of the brand, by now, we’ve come to expect the unexpected.

This collection, like that of its predecessor is less classic and more streetwear, featuring waist bags aka fanny packs and graphic prints. There’s even a leopard-print cross body bag among the lineup. There are, however, some classic pieces like a structured black, top handle tote, which was carried over from Spring 2019, as well as a vintage check Burberry Belt Bag. The new direction of Burberry, curated by Tisci, seems more inclusive than its previous collections, offering something for everyone. View all the bags below.

Is it just me or does TB remind you too of tuberculosis?

PJGambler

LOL!! Yeah, who would carry this????

Jerri R

At first glance I thought it was Tory Burch’s new logo.

2, 4, 6, 9, 10 ?

PJGambler

okay but I won’t be buying any…….logo is bizarre

Cat

I like Tisci’s work at Burberry. I think he’s working hard to make Burberry relevant and I think it’s working. I would totally buy, but admittedly I am in the street style target age range (20s).

nnk

what is with the awful content coverage these days…

psny15

Number 4 is my favorite, i despise the TB logo and that ugly vintage print – some old crap needs to remain where it was, in the past

Celina

That bucket is kind of amazing.

M Green

Definitely the best bag in this list!

MrsMega

I’m so thankful for the logo trend, I have spared so much money since it started…

Lps

Cool vibe- and #4 is stunning.

chae

I like #4 pic.

Antonia

I’m not a fan of these. What does the T in TB stand for anyway?

Belle

Thomas Burberry, founder of Burberry. I guess this isn’t common knowledge???

Passerine

And they’re my initials too! I wasn’t planning to buy a Burberry bag but might now have to rethink…

TB logo is very unattractive. It would take time for people to realize that it means Tisci for Burberry. A good portion of handbag buyers won’t even know who Tisci is. No. 2 has a Givenchy Antigona style to it.

Belle

It stands for Thomas Burberry, the founder of the company lol.

Rosa Lily

Thanks for the clarification. I got misinformed by someone else. Should’ve done my research before typing. 🙂

M Green

TB logo = nope.
Giant BURBERRY written across the bag = nope.

I may not love all the purses, but that jacket in #13 just went on my Christmas list! That bucket bag makes the case for buying yet another BB and I like #1. It has the casualness to pull off a graphic logo treatment.

Katy ;P

It would be interesting to know what kind of clients they want to appeal to.

The new “B” is literally a direct copy of Boston Red Sox “B”

seattleminimalist

Not loving the “TB” logo. It takes away form the beauty of the bags’ design.

I spy a Celine Box dupe. Seems like everyone is trying to release these box/chain flap bags that are all the rage. Sadly it doesn’t fit with the brand aesthetic, everything is just so… neutral. Not enough groundbreaking design.
