Summer will immediately bring to mind a myriad of instant memories for you, but along with the idea of trips and tropical escapes, my mind also goes to the Christie’s Summer auction. What can I say? I’m a bag lover through and through. The summer edit from Christie’s is always one that I look forward to because we are sure to see a wide range of products that span from the ultra-rare to the price-breaking to the colorful rainbow that the team is able to curate.
This summer, Christie’s vast auction includes a curated collection from Fashionphile within the sale along with additional items to make up Christie’s Handbags Online: The New York Edit. This special collection of handbags and accessories includes everything from a Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Kelly 25 to custom Mini Kelly Bags to brand new Hermès Fray Fray Birkins and much more.
As always, the incredibly rare and sought-after are included, which will see end prices well above retail. Still, I always like to note that an auction like this is a great way to dip your toe into the world of premier designer bags. If you opt for a more “common” bag (and by common, I still mean exclusive but, in this case, possibly easier to nab), you may even be able to grab a deal.
I wanted to share some of my favorite bags from this auction, ranging from the minis – this time, the Mini Lindy, which has really seen a massive uptick in love. There are also a lot of vintage 1960s Gucci Bamboo bags, which we’ve seen a big revival on with current-day new offerings. The Hermès rainbow will always delight, so I narrowed it down to some of my favorite hues, and just in time for summer trips, Hermès Twill is probably the bag that will visit me in my dreams most.
The auction runs now through June 9th at 10AM EDT.
