Oxfords never totally left the footwear circuit for tons of consumers, but they’re officially back on the fashion set’s radar. Flat footwear in general has made huge strides in the past few seasons–just check out Marchesa‘s stunning footwear and you’ll see what I mean. Even on the Spring 2016 runways, flats were everywhere, including some versions of oxfords from brands like Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
Tons oxfords have been popping up on retailers New Arrival pages for spring, and we’ve only hit the tip of the oxford-trend iceberg. Many brands are redesigning the classic to feel fresh and innovative, like incorporating flatforms, wedges and heavily embellished details. You’d be surprised how an androgynous, menswear-inspired oxford can make just the right statement in a very Emma Stone sort of way.
While I love, love, love (did I say love?) my heels and boots, I really am a flats girl at heart, and the return of the oxford sounds good to me!
Will someone please tell me why I need to pay over 900 smackers for a plastic shoe??? Excuse me…a faux leather shoe???
Wish I could….. since I never understood why anyone would buy, any of Stella McCartney’s bags or shoes.
OMG seriously! I love the styles but waaay too overpriced. I did find this cool oxford shoe that is a sling back that I’m totally obsessed with for only $98…and its leather! They are actually very comfy too surprisingly. http://r3form.com/index.php/footwear/hyde-sling-back-oxford.html
A great Oxford/Brogue is never out of style. Added 10 pairs to my collection last year. I do love that style of shoe.
I’ve been meaning to buy a nice pair of oxfords for all my long hours walking around the city, but I’m such a heels person. They give me an extra bounce in my step and I’d rather buy Adidas or Nike sneakers over oxfords. Do you think it’s worth it?
