I have a big spot for Prada bags in my heart. One of my first premiere designer bags was a Prada Nylon Messenger Bag that I carried for college, and while I know that sounds ridiculous, it was nothing short of amazing. Since then, I’ve found myself loving so many other bags from the brand, and I’m not alone. The brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection was filled with great designs, and some of my favorite celebrities are carrying them as well.
Jennifer Garner, Diane Kruger and Charlize Theron were all spotted carrying similar Prada bags from Spring/Summer 2015. The version Diane Kruger is carrying features bicolor calf leather that accentuates the bottom corners of the bag, which gives a Western twist to the design, while Jennifer Garner and Charlize Theron opted for all natural. The bag is a briefcase style, and I love it; the style is more structured and gives off a completely different vibe than a bag that has a shoulder strap.
The bag Charlize and Jennifer are pictured with retails for $2,610, while Diane’s bag retails for $2,185. You can buy Prada via its official site or via Bergdorf Goodman.
I love the shape and the color, goes well with almost everything in your wardrobe.
So I guess it costs Prada money to provide the celebs with their bags for free, and such costs are reflected in the prices.
It’s ok but a little on the boring side.
I actually really like this bag!

I used to eye Prada bags for many years till I mustered the courage to buy my first designer bag, a Prada double bag. I love the colors. However, over time I have found that Prada is one of the least innovative brands. While Fendi and Dior innovate and come up with new designs and color combinations, Prada’s designs are poor. Last season’s bags were awful and I haven’t seen many people carry it, I could not even think about buying them. Prada salespeople don’t seem very happy or motivated when I walk into their stores. The few designs that are good are very limited edition or display-only. Very disappointing. This in addition to reports of manufacturing in China.
I love Prada, enjoy their bags and am trying to stay a vocal champion of the brand. BUT!!!! They have to start innovating. I love the saffiano tote bags but, they need to be a classic nice to have. Not the lead horse. And these bags while good “staples” aren’t going to make anyone’s “it bag” or “must have” list. We need something fresh and exciting from the brand . The offerings of the past few years aren’t it.
And, while I haven’t had any quality issues with any of my Prada bags, too many people have. They MUST fix those quality issues.
This is a proud brand from a proud house. But, until they innovate and bring quality commensurate with their prices, they will lose the faithful like me to other brands like Chanel, Hermes and others.
