There are certain bags that immediately catch your eye and are identifiable as particular designer off the bat. To accomplish that, some brands use a classic monogram, others with signature hardware, and many have shapes that jump out immediately as brand icons; Prada prefers the final option. Two of the most recognizable Prada bags are the Prada Double Cuir Bag and the Prada Galleria Bag. Both are well-loved by shoppers and come in a variety of colors and combinations. Prada recently launched a new rendition of one of them, Prada Galleria Bag in City Calf, and I had to share it with you–it’s really lovely.
The Galleria is a bag I already know and love. While very similar to the Double Bag, the Galleria is different in that the interior features two zip pockets attached to the bag’s front and rear panels, and the overall shape isn’t quite as structured. These pockets are great to store items you don’t need to access frequently, want to separate from the bag’s general contents, or have a hard time finding and always want to more easily locate. The new evolution of this bag features City Calf leather instead of Prada’s legendary saffiano, and the interior is completely lined in suede with contrasting colors.
The Prada Galleria bag is named after the brand’s first-ever store in Milan. It’s a bag that is very Prada: easy to mark as a brand staple and impeccably made. Prada imagines beautiful color combinations, and this bag shows that with a rainbow of exterior colors contrasted with offsetting interiors. The bag is priced at $2,390 via Prada or shop Prada bags at Bergdorf Goodman.
Wow, that teal one is a stunner and I love the peeks of different color insides we get.
I’ve been wanting a saffaino tote for a long time, but have been scared because of the quality issues with the saffiano leather. I’m hoping that this version will hold up better quality wise.
I have both types of leather and calf feels like butter and is very durable. However, it is definitely not as structured as the saffiano. From my experience the saffiano holds up great! I even have a white saffiano and there’s been no color transfer at all. From what I read, a lot of the quality issues come from the popular double zip tote. So since these are new, then maybe that won’t be an issue. The snap closure looks like they’ve been improved upon as well.
Good to know yours have been fine, thanks so much! I would prefer the structure of the saffiano, so maybe I will just stay away from the double zip one.
i shouldnt be as excited as i am rn hahaha <3
…..*snooze*….
Lining it in a contrasting color, and suede, is nice.
For photo 3, when you click to the NM link, the green is not available. Only the blue with the green lining. I’m not wowed by these bags — they are fine and certainly a good choice for someone who wants a tote, but I’m not excited by them. I’m surprised and sorry to read about the problems people have had with Prada’s saffiano leather. I have two Prada saffiano wallets and both are still in perfect condition despite a lot of use. My Prada bags, however, have always been in the less structured cervo or vitello daino leathers. Those have aged quite gracefully; no stains from rain or snow and dirt just brushes off.
I love Prada maybe too much. I never understood why people knock the quality. I have several Prada bags and not one has a single flaw 🙂 But this bag is just beautiful
Bleh…

These are very pretty!
Beautiful, love the bright colored ones the best! One thing about this style it will always be in fashion and goes from business, to casual easily.
