Paris is the last stop during the long fashion month stretch, and I always think fashion people save their best for last. The streets of Paris are lined with the most fashionable men and women from around the world, looking to take in the shows and show off their goods. We gave you the best bags of NYFW (days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8), and now we have our favorite bag shots from the streets of Paris Fashion Week.

Most people think that when we go to Fashion Week, we’re mainly looking at the clothes going down the runway. In reality, Fashion Week has become just as much about what people outside of the shows wear and carry as what’s going on inside, and I love seeing all the bags on display. While there were Chanel and Celine bags galore, a different bag and brand stood out to me: the Jason Wu Daphne Bag.

Bag: M2Malletier Fabricca Leather Clutch

Price: $1,290 via Net-A-Porter

Why it’s the Bag of the Week: I’m always looking for new designers, and when I first saw the M2Malletier Clutch I was hooked. A modern take on a classic black leather clutch, this bag features a gold needle top handle that was modeled after medieval armor and took two years to perfect.

February always sneaks up on me, and then it leaves as quickly as it arrived. The month is filled with fashion weeks, so it’s a bit crazy, plus this February was so cold that I spent most of my time strategically deciding the quickest way to get from point A to point B without freezing. I did get a little shopping in, though, and while I told myself I have plenty of Celine bags, I found my way into the store and picked up a Celine Cabas Tote.

I’ve been busy these past few months with a variety of things, some great and some not (my grandmother passed away in January), but I’m back now! One of my trips to be with my family in Ohio ended up being much longer than anticipated, and I only had one bag with me, my black Hermes Birkin. I love that bag, but after carrying it for so long, I got to thinking about it, and the state of handbags in general.

Bag: Fendi Demi-Jour Small Color-Block Shoulder Bag

Price: $1,850

Where to Buy: Purchase via Net-A-Porter

Why it’s the Bag of the Week: Sleek, refined, perfectly color-blocked, plenty large to carry your essentials (plus it’s been on my mind for months), this bag has my hearts this week.

People who know me, know that I’m a jeans-and-T-shirt kind of gal. I have an extensive collection of pieces that are easy to wear and not considered statement pieces, I leave my bags to do most of the attention-catching. But after seeing the droves of people at New York Fashion Week, I always reconsider some fun pieces that I want to add to my wardrobe.

New York City is always brimming with openings, new stores and fashion innovation, and in December, Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo’s famed Dover Street Market opened its doors in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan. Dover Street Market has filled its space with high-end, avant guarde fashion and design shops, including a pop-up store from Louis Vuitton on the ground floor.

As Amanda has already shared (and if you follow any fashion-related handles on social media, you already know), New York Fashion Week started yesterday. Industry folk, celebrities, bloggers, and just about every other fashion lover have descended upon Lincoln Center and other venues around New York City to preview the Fall 2014 collections.

We still plan to share the best bags from the runway collections, but this year Vlad is taking to the streets to photograph the best bags he spots each day.

On PurseForum, there are threads in each designer section in which members share their purchases for the month. I don’t buy a new bag every month, even though many believe I do (and I wish I did), but watching others unwrap their newest goodies is the next best thing.

Each month we will open up the discussion to you to see if you bought a new handbag or fabulous accessory.
