While I don’t share every clothing collection shown during fashion week season, Vlad and I love to share the bags attendees carry to the shows. This New York Fashion Week Vlad and I decided to stay in Florida (where it’s warm and we don’t have to de-thaw every 5 minutes), but we did want to give you a taste of the bags being carried to the show.
kate spade new york always provides a fun atmosphere and show during New York Fashion Week. The Fall 2016 collection was no different, perched high above the NYC skyline in the famous Rainbow Room, Deborah Lloyd took cues from ballet and jazz singers, with models standing on a circular, rotating stage.
We reported last year that Louis Vuitton and Gucci were leading a monogram comeback, and that continues to be the case. Gucci is probably one of the hottest handbag brands at the moment, with everyone carrying and wearing the brand (including Lady Gaga during her amazing Super Bowl opening with the national anthem).
Not long ago, I was carrying my white Proenza Schouler PS1 and my friend remarked how clean and stain-free it is. Fast forward two days later and I checked the back of the PS1 to find pretty noticeable color transfer, most likely from a dark pair of jeans I was wearing during that very same conversation with my friend; the bag now looked dirty and gross.
When the Saint Laurent Sac de Jour first came out, Amanda shared that it wasn’t for her. I took a liking to it and my feelings toward the bag have only grown over time. Saint Laurent hit it big with this bag, and it’s proven to be accepted into the handbag world and given a permanent slot in the must-have bag category.
Sometimes I forget how much I love bags. I love the purpose a bag serves; not only to carry everything you need, but also to hide your smaller possessions from the outside world. I’m intrigued by what people carry in their bags and I know many of you are as well, which is why our What’s In His/Her Bag posts are a reader favorite.
