The heat broke! The heat in New York finally broke. While we’re sitting here writing this, it’s actually quite pleasant outside, maybe even unseasonably cool, and we’re celebrating sweet relief in the same way that we’ve soothed ourselves from the heat in past weeks – with a whole slew of bag deals. Without delay, find below our favorite markdowns that the Internet has to offer.

Earlier this week, I came across a great profile of new handbag line Mansur Gavriel by Lauren Sherman over at Fashionista, and the bags were so good – and filled such an obvious gap in the contemporary market – that I couldn’t help but run right over here to share the good news with you guys. If you’ve ever wondered why it’s so hard to find a simple, elegant leather handbag at a non-outrageous, you’re not alone – designers Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel wondered that, too.
Here’s NYC socialite/fashionista Olivia Palermo, sans hunky German fiance, carrying a “Jasper” red Louis Vuitton SC Satchel. The SC satchels have been a celeb favorite ever since their debut a few years ago. As Louis Vuitton fans already know, SC stands for Sofia Coppola, and this satchel is part of a capsule collection designed by the director. This much-beloved bag is still available from Louis Vuitton for $4,850.
Celebrity casting choices don’t often catch me by surprise – after all, most designer deck out their future ad girls in the brand’s wares for months before their partnerships are formally announced – but here we have Michelle Williams, starring in the ad campaign for two Fall 2013 Louis Vuitton Bags – the Louis Vuitton W Bag and the Louis Vuitton Capucines Bag.
There is so much that goes into getting ready for a night out, and each part of planning is as important as the next. When it comes to the finishing touch, I always opt for finding the perfect bag, but I also never leave home without a spritz of my favorite scent.
Viva la Juicy scent is an incredibly popular daytime option, and now there is the ideal evening counterpart, the sensual and bold Viva la Juicy Noir.
Normally when we profile a celebrity’s handbag collection, we choose a celeb whose bags we’d love to have, or at least a celeb who has chosen things that we understand. When it comes to Heidi Klum, that’s not exactly the case. In fact, I understand very little of what’s going on below. The more I looked at pictures of Klum in outfits that she chose for herself, the less I understood why she’s allowed to critique the taste of others on Project Runway.
I don’t remember exactly the words that ran through my mind when I saw the Kotur Mr. Minaudiere Clutch, but it was something along the lines of, “So. It’s come to this.” I don’t know when pop culture collectively decided that it would be hilarious to put disembodied mustaches on everything, but from twee ModClotch mustache-print dresses to people who actually have a cartoon mustache tattooed on the side of their index finger so it’s just absolutely hilarious when they hold it up to their top lip, this has got to stop.
Cate Blanchett has always had a very well defined, slightly eclectic sense of style, so it makes sense that she would choose something like this two-tone nappa leather Roger Vivier Prismick Shoulder Bag for daytime. Here she is with her Prismick in tow, heading into Good Morning America in NYC to rustle up a little PR for her upcoming flick, Blue Jasmine, which opens in NYC and LA this Friday!
Wednesday afternoon means that we’ve made it more than halfway through a work week that can seem interminable when summer fun is waiting on the weekends, so we all deserve a little reward, right? It also means that today is Want It Wednesday, so below you’ll find all the items that the PurseBlog team is considering rewarding itself with this week.
