Your First Look at Valentino’s Resort 2020 Bags

A tropical oasis was the perfect backdrop to showcase this collection

Italy’s Orto Botanico was the backdrop for Valentino‘s Resort 2020 lookbook shoot. An overly green, tropical oasis located in the middle of the Italian city of Rome, it made for the perfect setting to photograph a resort collection. There were plenty of tropical printed looks which were accented by flat, vacation ready sandals and of course, models clutched handbags—both new and old. Versions of pre-existing styles were shown including the Rockstud Spike Chain Bag, and the VRing Bag, but there were a few notable new mentions as well. A flap, saddle style, shoulder bag was introduced with a cool gold lock hardware closure. This new style was shown in solid leathers, including colorful hues like blue and red, while novelty versions with animal print and studded hardware were also introduced. See all of the bags below.

Underwhelmed. Picture #6 actually reminds me of Rebecca Minkoff. I like the cow print in picture 7. Bag #16 is my favorite. The rest? Meh.

many of the outfits are great but the bags are various types of hideous

The snake and the eagles are all motives that have been used before by Valentino, specially on handbags as clasps. Late 90s and early 00s collections had all those details.

Ugly and unimaginative.

Lovely clothes. Dated, old lady bags.

The bags are ok, but the clothes look gorgeous! The fabrics’ textures and prints are beyond beautiful

Darietta

00s Versace vibes

I love nr 27, but personally wish that the last was something different than what seems to be a snake. But the bag itself and the metal of the clasp was beautiful! Not that I dislike snakes, but I don’t see myself wearing a snake-clutch at a formal event. I am not a snake-woman.
