I have two approaches when it comes to shopping for pretty much anything, especially a new bag. The first is pretty simple and to sum it up with the words of Ariana Grande, “I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it”. I’m no stranger to the impulse purchase, which can be both a good and a bad thing as far as I’m concerned. I’m not one to risk an item selling out…so I have to buy it right there and then, right? When I’m not impulse shopping, which truthfully I usually am, I’m hunting for the perfect item. For the last six or seven years, I’ve been on the hunt for a purple bag. Not just any purple bag, but a pretty lavender color in particular. I know what you’re thinking, if you’ve wanted a lavender bag for so many years, why not just buy one? That’s a question I ask myself all the time, especially with an awesome selection of pretty purple bags available right now.
Year after year an array of lavender bags make their way into my shopping cart, and every year I end up passing them over. Over the years I’ve seen many lavender bags that I quickly fall in love with, but there is always something missing from them that I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s that one thing that makes my newfound love wear off. I’m not an overly picky person when it comes to shopping, but for some reason I’m extremely particular over the lavender bag that becomes a staple in my closet and joins my collection. Maybe it’s because I have built up the idea of the lavender color so much in my mind that no existing bag will ever live up to my expectation, which is a lot of pressure for my future bag—I know you’re out there somewhere!
There are plenty of beautiful purple options to choose from, so why am I being so picky about this? I have to say that after some soul searching, I’m realizing that maybe it’s me. The truth is, I’m just not ready to give up the hunt for my lavender bag yet. I’d be lying if I didn’t get a rush every time I search the internet for bags offered in this beautiful hue. Have you ever searched for a particular item (somewhat obsessively) before? If so, you are probably familiar with the thrill and excitement of the hunt. The only thing more exhilarating than buying something new is the hunt for something new. Perhaps I really am enjoying the hunt far too much to actually buy my lavender bag, so I guess I’ll have to keep searching.
My hunt may not be over yet, but these beauties below sure are tempting! Which is your favorite?
They are all pretty, but I’m getting Easter egg vibes. I wouldn’t know how to incorporate this color into my wardrobe, but maybe in the Spring for Church? It also feels like a color a younger woman, in their 20’s or so, would wear, but IDK.
I have Vera from Ferragamo in purple and it goes well with pastel palettes. And I’m in my 30s.
Hmm, I spent last night trying to dye a 3 ounce piece of veg-tan leather a light shade of purple for a ladies wallet.
My hands look like that girl in the first willy wonka movie, the leather is still drying.
It’s quite a coincidence seeing this lavender themed article!
If I were you I would go ahead and buy the Alice McCall bag since it’s on sale for $170! At that price it won’t break the bank and you can test out if a lavender bag is right for you. And at that price, you can still keep “hunting” for the prefect shade/shape/size/brand if the test bag works out.
That Nancy Gonzalez bag is beautiful. The Furla is cute too. I just wish it were a different tone. More like the others. More grey based. Less pink based.
Nancy Gonzalez Small Flap Crossbody bag is so gorgeous!!!
Loving these! Lavender is my favorite color and I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect lav bag for a long time…more purple bags please!
When I want purple, I’m more likely to go for a deep eggplant. But lately I’ve been taken by that lavender Aspinal of London Mayfair top handle Kate Middleton’s been seen carrying. It’s similar to the Nancy Gonzalez, but at a much lower price point.
