I’m not a big traveller when it comes to multi-week, trans-global excursions, partly because I’m a millennial who pays her own rent in New York City and partly because I just hate being on airplanes for more than a few hours. What I do fairly frequently, though, is take domestic traps that last a few days, and in those situations, I feel sort of silly packing a full suitcase, especially since the smallest one I have is still pretty big. Enter: the weekend bag.
Weekend bags are smaller than a suitcase but bigger than the tote you might carry on to an airplane if you checked your suitcase. They’re big enough to hold enough changes of clothes and toiletries for a couple of days, along with your laptop and whatever else you don’t want to part with for a long weekend. They’re the goldilocks of travel bags.
They’re also quite useful during this time of year, when the weather starts to warm and lots of people take an extra day off here and there to head to the nearest beach, lake, large swimming pool or other weather-appropriate getaway.
