People start to get very nervous about “bathing suit season” when the weather starts to turn warm. I think you are all perfect little angel babies just like you are, of course, and if the spring thaw inspires you to leave your houses and move your bodies, then more power to you. The thing about leaving your house, though, is that you’re going to need to do it with a bag that you feel comfortable stuffing in a gym locker.

Most gym bags are heinous nylon things made for men who want to telegraph to those around them that they Definitely Do Sports, but I will have none of that. Instead, I took to the Internet to find some significantly less fugly options, and I think you’ll be pleased with my results. If you’re not into the gym, a lot of them will also do admirable double duty as weekend travel bags or carry-ons.

I have it in solid navy blue and it’s very good: lightweight, roomy, two carry options. I used it as a carry-on the last time I flew. The floral version is so pretty!

I have the Lululemon backpack/rucksack and it’s amazing! Tons of pockets, removable pouch on the front for a small cross body bag (so I don’t have to bring a separate purse to the stinky gym). The other options are also adorable, love the floral pattern of the Kate Spade! Another suggestion (although probably already popular/easy to think of) is the Longchamp Le Pilage, easy to clean and compactable. Great suggestions Amanda!

For a minute there I thought the Alexander McQueen was a Rebecca Minkoff bag. Go figure.

I’m still in love with my DB&M Gweneth tote, I have it in solid black but am always lusting after the new colors! It’s a great bag for a bargain price. Totally recommend it.
I’m kinda after a new backpack, if the right one comes along. The Stella Weekender might be it. Or Lululemon. Can’t make up my miiiiind..!

Great pick with the Kate Spade — a very pretty bag! I’m happy to see that all of them can be carried hands-free: they’re a backpack style or have long handles or a shoulder strap. I once had a gym bag with short handles and no shoulder strap. Was a pain to walk to the gym after work carrying that bag, plus my normal bag and occasionally a laptop bag.

Nordstrom’s women’s luggage and travel page shows that the bag has a matching small (20″) wheeled carryon-bag. A cute and refreshing combo for somebody who doesn’t want to travel with the standard black or grey carryon luggage.
