PurseForum Roundup – January 29th

Things are never just black or white...

Hello everybody, I hope you all are well. Between covid, personal relationships, and big life changes, I know most of us are finding it hard to come up for air. Apparently mercury is in retrograde, and this one is definitely putting me through the wringer. So with all of that being said I decided to base this weeks round up on the very important life lesson that’s really hitting home for me right now, the lesson that things are never just black or white—just these bags! For all of the newcomers out there reading this, we’re so glad you’re here! These roundups are made from a selection of photos by our tPF members of their very own bags that we discovered while combing through the forum. If you aren’t already a member, now’s the time to join as it’s a great place to connect to other purse people. Whether your seeking advice, researching a particular bag, or just browsing, our community has so much to offer!

We’re starting today off with this fresh bag shared by our member 23adeline to the “Louis Vuitton x Urs Fischer Collaboration! LV x UF” thread. We love seeing this bag being carried, it’s so graphic and cool!

Our second stop on this journey was over in the “The Mini-Bulb” Bottega thread where our member xcaramelizex posted this lovely little gem.

This next one is for all of you Saddle bag fans out there! This oblique baby was shared by our member TraceySH to the “The Saddle (pictures only)” thread.

Up next is this lovely Celine Asymmetrical (a super underrated bag in my opinion), posted by our member and authenticator IntheOcean.

Congrats to our member minami on her new Chanel 19 bag! She shared this photo to her “Chanel 19 Reveal – white” thread. What a way to start the new year!

Gosh this white Constance shared by our member luvHermes2 in the “Gray/White Color Family…Pics Only!” thread has my heart singing! If only I were brave enough to wear white.

We want to give a shout out to all the guys and their bags! I definitely recommend the “Guys and their Bags – mod shots please!” thread for some great looks. We love to see it! Are you on ban island? I sure am, so following threads like “What is the last handbag you bought? Share a photo with us!” have been keeping me well behaved, as I can see what everyone else has been up to. Well that’s all for this week, I hope you all are safe and in good health!

OHMYGOD you have no idea I was just recently wondering how I was recently wondering that I don’t see enough white bags, and I see this today! This made my day, and LOVE the white Dior Saddle, it looks sooo pure!

I can’t imagine the frustration. I have an unnamed, croc-embossed calfskin briefcase in a shade similar to the Himalaya Birkin and I’m always worried that’s gonna get stained. White’s only gonna get worse. Wish we had bag cases like phone cases.

Off topic and with all respect, I’m curious when you wrote: “We want to give a shout out to all the guys and their bags! I definitely recommend the “Guys and their Bags – mod shots please!” My question is did you literally mean “guys” like in men? Or, are you referencing “women”?

I understand the tendency to group all people into the “guy” category, but I feel it should change. For instance, in my employment a man was appointed supervisor over 8 women, myself included. During his interactions with us he always referenced us as “guys”. Finally, a co-worker spoke up and said “we aren’t guys…we are women”. Now, he simply says “good morning” without referencing sex. Also, there are too many words, in the English language, that reference men vs. women. For instance, “menopause, menstruation….”. These words are in our language, as is the reference “guys” when referring to “women”, that it has become acceptable and the norm.

Maybe some will disagree, but hopefully I can express my opinion without getting targeted with hateful comments. ????

If only we all had the spare time to indulge in chasing the opportunity to be offended by the most farfetched, outlier, random nonsense. Some people have “real” problems. You DO realize that “men” in menopause is Greek from “month”? The stupidity can be some serious next level bs here.

Attacking someone for speaking their truth is immature! That IS “some serious next level BS”. Calm down and grow up! If you can’t handle a discussion without insults move on. I’m sure there are other platforms that would welcome your hate! ?
