I am on what our forum members like to call a shopping ban or “ban island.” I’m not purchasing items that aren’t strictly necessities right now (okay, I use the word ‘necessity‘ loosely here, because buying chipmunk ears for my daughter’s costume wasn’t strictly necessary, but I did it). More specifically, I’m not making any luxury purchases at the moment.
One thing I like to do when I’m on ban island is partake in the purchases of others. I’ve always found the community aspect of tPF (and PurseBlog!) to be one of the best parts of what we’ve built. I have thousands of virtual friends who are all handbag lovers, and together we can share our thoughts, purchases, questions, and more.
tPF October Louis Vuitton Purchases
Reflecting on the month of October, I peeked into the Louis Vuitton subforum to see what our members were buying. The range included a lot of metallics and some custom pieces—proof that even when you can’t shop with them, you can still join in and feel like you’re part of the process.
It satisfies my love for bags by sharing in the joy of others’ purchases and ultimately grows my virtual cart (though that cart is currently on lockdown). There’s something oddly comforting about knowing that even when you’re not buying, you can still be surrounded by beauty, excitement, and the thrill of the chase… just from a different seat this time.

That garnet colored empreinte bag took my breath away, I’d love to have it. Going on line to LV now to see how much$ it costs, if over $3K I’ll be good, but and I haven’t purchased a new bag in three years…….
