PurseBlog Asks: What’s Your New Bag for Fall?

As we head into Labor Day Weekend, fall wardrobes are on our minds

Labor Day Weekend is the unofficial end of summer in the United States, and especially in the Northeast, which makes no sense. We have weeks left of summer weather in New York City, and some parts of the country have months. Nevertheless, this is how the tradition goes, and that means by now my brain is trained to move on to fall, no matter what. No matter how much I prefer summer. So, to ease this transition, let’s talk about something that comforts us all: bags, and specifically, getting a new bag.

A lot of shoppers who only make one or two big bag purchases a year wait until the weather changes to do it, and a lot of the ones who buy many bags also start thinking about an acquisition around now because this is when the widest selection of new arrivals will be in stores until after Christmas. There’s novelty, there’s selection—everything you need! So, how will you choose?

Personally, I’m eying the Mansur Gavriel Saddle Bag, in the largest size. I’ve written before about my theory that saddle bags are actually the best bags for winter, and this one is one of the bigger and more structured options out there, which makes it a strong contender for my current rotation, which contains a lot of mini bags and could use something a step larger and slightly more formal. This Mansur Gavriel bag is, for me, the perfect option.

Ideally, I think I’d want to buy it in navy; I’ve never owned a navy bag, in spite of how much I like how it pairs with black, which is the color I wear most. So now that I’ve got it in my sights, I just need to do some plotting and budgeting.

So, how about you? What do you have on your shopping list for fall when it comes to bags?

You can pick up my pick for $895 via Net-a-Porter.
