There are many colors that I enjoy looking at but would never think of wearing. Purple (more specifically Lilac) used to be a big conundrum for me. On the one hand it was my most favorite color—I loved the feelings it provoked and I enjoyed it on so many levels, but even still it wasn’t a color that I typically (read: ever) would wear.
That’s changed in the last couple of years and as I’ve added more purple hues to my closet it has also pushed me to embrace wearing other colors as well. Next one on the list? Mellow yellows.
I’ve slowly, but surely been adding more yellow to my wardrobe, and while I’ve added a few new pieces to my collection, my favorite is by far this little yellow puffer from my favorite place to buy vintage. I love the lemony-yellow color that’s not quite pastel but still light and airy.
No matter the weather or your mood, yellow provides a boost like no other. For people who are slow to embrace the shade because it doesn’t flatter their skin tones, a bag is the perfect way to give it a shot – your bag and your summer glow don’t need to go together in the same way that your clothes do to bring out your best undertones. While I’ve yet to acquire a yellow bag that makes me as happy as my little lemon puffer, I’ve recently discovered that Chanel has some of the best light, buttery yellows I’ve ever seen. And when it comes to yellow on a bag versus clothing, buttery is the exact shade of yellow I’m after.
From novelty flap bags to Boy bags and even the new 19 bag too, Chanel’s yellows are some of the best I’ve seen. I even took a look at the secondary market to see if it was just a seasonal fluke or it’s always been this way. Sure enough, it seems that Chanel has got yellow down pat. Take a look below at some of my favorite finds.
These yellow bags are delicious!
Is the Gabrielle backpack an ombre shade or is it just the light? Wish it came in golden hardware though.
I agree. I think these soft yellows must be paired with gold. Maybe a copper or black, but that distressed steel color is off to me.
Yellow is nice but I personally prefer a brighter hue.
