As I sit on my couch and look out the window, a bright blue sunny sky is all I see over NYC right now. Only problem is that it is still cold. I am sure for many of you these temperatures are not that bad, but I’m a Florida transplant and my fingers are almost too cold to type. You think I’m kidding? I’m not – take a peek at what I look like as I try to work today.

Anyhow, back to the bags. I may still be bundling up with a warm winter coat but I have spring on my mind. And for spring one of the major trends is having a bright bold ladylike bag adorning your arm. I would love to infuse color and an exotic skin into my collection with the Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Chain-Strap Shoulder Bag.

Nancy Gonzalez is the Queen of color and exotic skins for that matter. I love the playful chain shoulder strap being used on this design. Of course the skin speaks for itself, as it does on every Nancy Gonzalez bag. Both of the color options, fuchsia or yellow, are entirely eye-catching and will work perfectly with spring’s huge color-blocking trend.

I’m loving the visual I am getting when picturing this bag with just about any outfit, from a little black dress to casual chic, you can do not wrong with this bag. There are plenty of pockets for your convenience. Overall dimensions are 7″H x 10″W x 3 1/2″D while the shoulder strap drop is 8.75″. Buy via Neiman Marcus for $2,950.

Not a fan of this particular strap. Many NG bags are timeless, but I fear this strap will scream 2011 like the fins on a ’59 Cadillac.

What is the current thought of carrying croc or gator at night? There was a time where it was “proper” to carry these bags only in the daytime.

Your picture is hilarious. That’s how I felt when I spent two weeks in D.C. for Christmas break. I’m not sure how my born and raised in TX body is going to cope with the cold on the East Coast.
I love the bright colors. I love Nancy Gonzalez.
I didn’t know that there were any “rules” about wearing exotic skins during the day or night.

The chain-looking-strap is an overkill. Would’ve loved it otherwise.

I would like exotic skins in more sober colors. Love your picture though!

  • louch

Agree with the comments about the strap – will date the bag too quickly and this is a bit too expensive to want to do that!! Love the colours though and as usual, Nancy is the queen of exotics.

  • MizzJ

The colors are cute, but I agree, those straps are hideous. I’m already over it now. Haha and the pic is hilarious.

  • Joyce

The straps cheapen the bags too much!

  • Sabrina

LOVE your post and I was enticed with the bright bags but absolutely died of laughter seeing you bundled in your blankyyyy…I love humour!!! Keep it up and come see my fetish for BRIGHTS this spring :D

  • Kat

I’m sorry, but those straps make the bags look like they belong in the sale bin in Target.

    • KaylaNiche

      HAHAHA!!! Yessss!

  • Mousse

Love the leather colors but not the chain color. Wondering if it will “chip off.” Agree with Kat that these look like at Target special deal.

Your work outfit is hilarious. Aside from my general dislike for exotics, I think the strap would hurt since there isn’t a bit of leather where it would meet the shoulder.

Great color and bags so young and chic, right for s/s.

  • Chele

Beautiful croc colors but I’m not happy with those straps.

A silver or gunmetal chain would have made the bag.

The bag is very nice, but the chain strap – not so much. Being colored makes it look plastic. Now, these same bags with metal chains (gold or silver) – I’d be pretty tempted.
