The Must Have Bag of the Moment: Mulberry Tillie

Fashion Month is half complete right now. As much as we are checking the fashion week shows to dish on the upcoming trends, we are also loving people-watching those who attend the shows. One of the must have bags of the moment is the Mulberry Tillie.

Following the huge success of the Alexa, Mulberry decided to follow up with the Tillie. The debate has ensued whether or not the Tillie is as covetable as the Alexa.

It took a little while for the Tillie’s design to grow on me and it now has my attention. I really am loving the oversized Tillie snake-effect rendition. The bag completely fits into the Mulberry aesthetic. There is a utilitarian chic vibe, which is precisely why all the editors and fashionistas are being spotted with this bag non-stop. If you are considering the Tillie, this is the option to have. Buy through Net-A-Porter for $1,825.

The chain looks heavy – MJ bags have same thing and it really hurts your shoulder when the bag is full. Not sure if I like it as much as the Alexa but I think it will grow on me. Snakeskin finish is lovely.

No way for me. It looks equivalent to the line they did for Target. $1825 — you’re kidding…. I’ll stick with my VBH sueded python origami crossbody – and it was less by $100…

I’m not impressed :/

Last year I tried to buy the Alexa in Paris, the guys in Mulberry´s stores don´t welcome customers, they´re very unpleasant…never go back

The bag is beautiful..but it looks like it’s missing something..

I don’t like it. But, I don’t like the “faux” buckles.

babe

to me it looks like they took a little bit of everything…???

The buckles look silly. Other than that I could get behind this bag. I don’t want one, but I could understand its appeal.

Maybe I need to see it paired with some fabulous outfits like you likely have, but I just am not getting it. This bag seems like it’s trying too hard to be a edgier Alexa, like a younger sister imitating the older.

I don’t like this bag; I don’t love the color and I do not like the buckles or the small top handle. I think I have to see it in person.

I loved and bought the Alexa last year, this ones just not doing it for me… I think the design is too close to the Alexa and they’re cashing in on it’s success instead of doing something interesting and new, plus the hardware is really tacky.

Amy

Gorgeous, but I agree with the comments about the metal strap. Ouch!

Whoever deemed this the “must have bag of the moment” should be ashamed of themselves… this bag is fugly and screams made in china
oh, mostly shame on Mulberry

I loved this bag when I first saw it, but having seen quite a few Mulberry Alexas and Bayswaters around the city I’m not too impressed.

Something about them makes them look like $400-$500 bags in person, not well over $1000. Quality? Leather? Not sure, but disappointing. I’m glad I didn’t get the Alexa a few months ago after all, or this bag.
