Believe it or not, as my obsession with purses has grown over the years, the men in my life have taken a unique interest in them as well. I’ve trained my friends and family so well, they can easily identify a Chanel or a Prada from a mile away. Well maybe not a mile (and the logo does help a bit), but shhh.
In-line with Kaitlin’s recent article on gender neutral bags, it got me thinking about all the men’s bags out there that may suit my friends and family. But once I dug a little deeper, I realized I’d happily wear many of the styles designated under “men’s.” (Now I’m really in trouble… I digress.) Honestly, minus some sparkle and jewel embellishments, they don’t look much different from what’s in the “women’s” section anyway.
While us ladies have many more bags to choose from (sigh, maybe one day that’ll change), there are a handful of men’s bags I think any purse-lover would be satisfied with.
Whether you’re looking for a new bag or are considering gifting something special to a friend or family member, check out these 12 bags that just about anyone could rock. Which one would you choose? I have my eye on the Louis Vuitton Soft Trunk Messenger MM.
Breaking news! That Burberry logo is still the ugliest thing on earth.
Totally agree – it makes that bag look cheap! I think it would be much better with their iconic plaid.
I’m finding less and less topics of interest in these articles. It’s either a rehash or overkill of the same thing, Chanel, Birkins..
Or it’s the same article lingering on day after day.. suede in summer, to dustbag or not dust bag, revising the Gucci disco.
Really? I used to look forward to signing in everyday in the hopes of discovering something new; like a new bag, brand, silhouette, trend. Sadly, not the case anymore.
I agree. Articles having less and less imagination. Let’s not forget the constant Prada “collaborations”. It’s sad but Purseblog is becoming really lame.
Ha! Who knew the Gucci Men’s GG Supreme Medium Messenger Bag was for men? I just purchased it and it’s the perfect size, etc. and fits everything. However, unfortunately I also must agree with Irene. Perhaps in the summer the articles decline as there aren’t as many readers since they are out and about in the nice weather, but IDK. Or, maybe Purseblog is losing its mojo due to all the negativity and attacks against their writers? I hope not since this blog otherwise is great!
Anybody who sees where Gucci classifies that bag on their website knows it’s for men, as well as anyone who sees where that bag is listed on department store websites.
I don’t really like Gucci’s men’s bags. The messengers are way too flat.
I didn’t browse any website, Gucci or otherwise so I had no idea that it was a mans bag. I was vacationing in Michigan and shopped in a Gucci boutique and there it was, in the women’s handbag section. I tried it on and loved it!
How odd. Every Gucci store I’ve been to here and abroad has them with the rest of the men’s bags.
When I saw the Gucci Messenger Bag, my first thought was that I would totally carry that. I usually shop on the websites and I always look at the man bags too.
I don’t have any men in my life that would carry any of those bags. I would though!
The only one mine would carry is the briefcase. He hates logos on his stuff.
Prada has such great men’s bags. Too bad the bag in this article is not one of them.
Kills me that “man bags” are so much less expensive than bags made for women. That Gucci backpack, if marketed toward women, would be double the price!!
You should definitely do an article about women’s backpack and what you cold fit in them
That Shinola bag is beautiful but looks very heavy.
LV and Fendi have way better and more gorgeous man bags than these.
