Colorblocking has been gaining momentum in the fashion world as of late, particularly in the world of Instagram influencers. Love them or hate them, I often look to influencers to stay on top of the latest trends. In fact, I look at Instagram way more often than I would an issue of Vogue or Elle, although I did recently purchase the September issue of Vogue based solely on the fact that Taylor Swift was on the cover, but I digress. One of my favorite Instagram influencers, Blair Eadie, has taken colorblocking to new heights this year. Blair has single-handedly influenced me to adapt the colorblock trend into my wardrobe, I love how playful and creative her looks are. I like to have fun with my fashion, and colorblocking is an easy way to shake up my look. I’ve been colorblocking my clothes, but because this is PurseBlog and we all know that purses are the epicenter of an outfit, I have been stalking colorblocked handbags excessively this season.
Colorblocked handbags aren’t a new concept, they have been around forever, but they’re definitely having a moment right now with no signs of slowing down. There are seemingly more colorblocked handbags on the market than ever before and the selection is really good. So many new handbags have been released for fall that play into the colorblocking trend and I am loving nearly every single one I’ve seen thus far. The contrast of the different hues on a bag brings an intricate and innovative component to a design, and I find the look of them so interesting and unique. I’d pair a colorblocked bag with a monochromatic outfit to allow my bag to really stand out, but you could also wear it with a colorblocked outfit if you are far more ambitious than I am (I can’t rock it like so many lucky people can!).
Recently I sent a few of my favorite colorblocked bags to a fellow bag aficionado in my life and was shocked when she told me she hates colorblocking. I love this look so much that it had never occurred to me that it could be controversial, so I am dying to know what my fellow PurseBloggers think about them. I’ve made my firm stance in the love it or leave it debate on colorblocking well known, but I now realize that it’s not a look for everyone. Please tell me what you think about this classic (yet simultaneously) trendy style.
Do you love or leave colorblock handbags? I’ve got to know!
I love colorblocked hangbags, but it’s so rare that I see one where I love ALL of the colors. Usually, I will always always prefer a handbag in a solid color.
I like color-block bags in theory (since I live in neutral-colored jeans and t-shirts), but they feel too loud for my taste in real life…. That VOLON is gorgeous tho, so that’s definitely a brand I’m gonna keep my eyes on. Thanks for featuring them!
That MCM didn’t even try a little to be stylish
Exactly! The ugliest one in the bunch!

Why???? They are only hangers for whatever pops up in the shops. There is nothing discerning about their fashion choices. You’d do better to look at department store windows and store displays. Those looks are edited and curated.
…I like bag 5 & 7. Rest are gross. Please make those Chloé bags go away.
The Marni bag is definitely my favorite of the bunch.
Still love and carry my Valentino color block top handle bag. One is enough for my bag collection.
I like the Loewe and the last one. The others are ugly. I’ve always loved the Loewe puzzle bags but they just seem very impractical.
All of these bags scream Little Black Dress, because nothing else would match them.
I bought my 1st color block handbag. MK spiced coral/white Marilyn satchel. I couldn’t resist the colors together and I must say, it really brings a pop to an outfit. I like color block handbags!
