A brand like Louis Vuitton has an expansive offering when it comes to its bags, from the classics that we all know to seasonal renditions and new releases (like the Coussin which was just introduced). One bag that is a cornerstone staple for the brand is the Twist, a bag that fuses Louis Vuitton’s brand heritage with modern day appeal. In fact, you may think this bag has been around longer than it actually has (it was first shown on the catwalk for the 2015 Cruise show), but that only goes to show the immediate timelessness of the design.
The standout feature of the Louis Vuitton Twist is the unique clasp which pivots the LV into a V and this twisting mechanism is what gives the bag its own name. The first rendition featured Epi leather, which I find to be one of the most durable leathers you will come into contact with on a bag, and since it was first introduced, the bag has been reinvented many times over. Our Ultimate Bag Guide of the Louis Vuitton Twist shows the different sizes and options, including some of the most stunning exotic versions, that are offered for the House’s Iconic Twist bag.

For spring 2021, the Twist has been re-imagined in both delicate and vibrant shades, braided detailing, and different strap and carrying options to change up the overall feel of the bag. When the Twist was first released, it possessed a more dressed up vibe, as it was a bag that most carried for nights out or to more formal events. But this season, the variety of carrying options presented allows this bag to be far more usable from day to evening and beyond. There are options with fine chain straps, or versions with broad shoulder straps embroidered with the LV Monogram flowers which transforms the appearance of the bag entirely. Other options include a leather top handle, which changes how the bag will look as well. The different options of carrying the bag allows for crossbody, over the shoulder, under the arm, or in your hand options, making this bag quite versatile.

Bag collectors tend to always have classic bags as go-to staples amongst trendier pieces. The nice thing about the Louis Vuitton Twist is that it offers both; a wardrobe cornerstone bag along with many choices to truly make this bag one that you can carry as much or as little as you’d like.

I hate how most brand trying to put top handle on a nice bag. Its make the bag look “trying so hard”.
I’m not bothered by the top handle on this particular bag (the new top handle Chanel mini, on the other hand… the stuff of nightmares). What I hate with the fire of a thousand suns is that whipstitching. I don’t live in New Mexico and have no desire to look like I do.
Couldn’t agree more! The handle ruins the overall appeal of this great bag.
The Twist is one of my favorite lines, but I really dislike the woven strap. A simpler leather strap would work much better. Good thing they sell straps of great variety.
I dislike braiding on any bag; it cheapens it. It reminds me of my Girl Scout days when I made braided projects. Overall it’s not a classy look and I expect more from a design house.
The Twist is one of my favorite “newer” LV bags but I m not a fan of the woven detail. The beauty of this bag resides in it’s simplicity.
Personally, I m not bothered by the top-handle version.
I’m not bothered by the top handle at all. I find it aesthetically appealing and convenient.
Other posters seem to dislike it. I think it looks nice.
I can’t carry something I can’t fit my laptop in
