It hardly seems like it should be time to think about Resort 2016 bags, but pre-orders are starting to pop up here and there, as well as the collections’ ads. Over the past couple days, two of the biggest handbag-centric campaigns have debuted: Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
Not only are the photographs beautiful in their own right, but we always pay keen attention to ads because they often reveal bag styles that weren’t on the runway, which means the public is getting a look at them for the first time. Chanel’s ads were photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself, while Vuitton looked to legendary photographer Patrick Demarchelier and LV campaign vets Michelle Williams and Alicia Vikander.
Both sets of ads reveal some exciting bags that will be in stores soon; once we know more about both collections, you’ll be the first to hear about it.

I can’t really see each chanel bag in the midst of all those very colourful outfits/background. I am guessing the bags are not the main/only focus of the campaign..

Forgive me but I couldn’t help but giggle like a child at Slide 14. The ad is remarkably gorgeous but WHO would carry their incredibly expensive bag like that. WHO. xD (Yes, I am aware it is just a pose for an ad campaign.)

Did anyone else see the Louis Vuitton Birkin…
I don’t see any resemblance between a Birkin and the LV Steamer. If a bag is squarish tote it does not mean it is inspired by Birkin. Lots of bags are designed within that shape. Birkin is basicly the redesign of Sac haut à courroies while Louis Vuitton steamer is inspired by Louis Vuitton Steamer travel bag. Still on sell on Louis Vuitton website. I still like Birkin but i think it is getting too common now, same with Chanel flap.

to be honest I like very much the LV ad. All: photography, bags, location, atmosphere…Chanel is really nothing interesting to me: dresses pretty awful (seriously who can buy them?, makeup who can use it? bags always the same old soup.
The red boxy Chanel bag in #4 caught my eye. The rest, meh. Pretty ads, though, especially LV slide 13. Might check out the LV Birkin 🙂 Any clue what that price point will be?
