Last fall we gave you a closer look at some of the bags the brand Linjer has to offer. The Norwegian design studio prides itself in making high-quality products that are both beautiful and durable without the luxury markup. There are only a handful of bags Linjer offers right now, with each bag aiming to fill a specific void in your handbag wardrobe.

When I first discovered Linjer, my favorite bag of theirs was the Tulip bag – and it remains my favorite. I was drawn to its interesting lines and how the materials, colors, and design make the bag really stand out. The exterior features full grain Italian vacchetta leather paired against natural linen lining which is treated for water and stain resistance. Keep in mind that this shows wear more easily, but I believe it wears well and gives the bag a lot of character over time.

The interior does offer a zipper pocket for small items including your phone and the shoulder strap is adjustable. The top of the bag doesn’t fully close, which is by design. I don’t mind this aspect, as the bag doesn’t bulge open while remaining quite easy to access as well. While the interior is simple, the exterior design elements are what lured me into this bag in the first place.

I see a lot of bags and I am constantly looking for something that sets itself apart from the crowd, and this bag does just that. I’ve always loved natural linen paired with leather and the Rose and Blush leather against the linen on this bag and design bring the Tulip to life. This is a bag that want to touch and I really adore its form. Easily dressed up or dressed down, this bag flows well with anything you are wearing and will be a talking piece among your friends. The first day I carried my Tulip bag, I was asked by 3 people about it, and that rarely happens!

The Natural/Yellow Tulip bags and the Red/Black Tulip bags will be available again tomorrow, July 2nd, at 9am EST after a long restock wait. With the demand being so high, you’re are getting an early heads-up to check Linjer’s site tomorrow and place your order if you want to nab one (priced at $525). This Rose/Blush Tulip bag is only being released to VIP customers tomorrow, but you can ask to be notified next time it will be stocked. To access the Tulip page at Linjer, use PASSWORD: summertulip.

Is this a spoof account?

Karlie

I’m unclear as to the reason this bag is being showcased, again. I purchased, but returned it. It is poorly made, scratches easily and is very cheap looking. I was hugely disappointed when I received it. However, if you love these qualities in a bag then purchase it and enjoy!

Sheila (Maddy Loves)

“In collaboration with Linjer” which is a subtle way of saying this is an advertisement / sponsored post.

Karlie

Yes, I know, but my point was the earlier reviews were poor so why post it again, but money is the great motivator.

Cat

It as terrible reviews on TPF too.

Sparky

I won’t be added to the alleged wait list.

Kenzie

…But you can see the lining through the holes in the bag.

Harleen

it kind of looks like underwear to me

Megs Mahoney Dusil

That’s a design element. I like that part of the bag, I like seeing the different materials and colors together

Kenzie

Actually, perhaps PurseBlog could do a whole feature on bags with deliberately visible lining? (This was NOT sarcastic.)

Megs Mahoney Dusil

Ya? I can see about some other brands that do this. I think more designers have started to play with the idea of showing what’s on the inside to the outside (think Fendi Peekaboo, but that is obviously different), but there’s always new ways designers want to make their bags stand out.

Kenzie

Yes, it is a design element- I didn’t think it was damage or a mistake. It’s simply a hard pass for me and most others on PurseBlog, as judging from the comments. But suit yourself, of course!

Pamela W.

what about rainy days tho.. it’s so ugly and poorly designed.

Sarah

The colors are gorgeous! I love how the bag looks

kemilia

I hope they paid TPF well for this ad. If it were free I might get it and then take it to a cobbler to sew up the corners (reminds me of those jean cutoffs with the pockets hanging out).

Megs Mahoney Dusil

That is a design element of the bag. I actually like that aspect, but it’s not for everyone!

Master Green

Sorry PB, but these fake reviews are getting annoying.

Megs Mahoney Dusil

No review is fake. Every post is written by someone on our team, not from any partner. I wrote this post and it is marked as a collaboration, but it is a bag that I also personally like.

Master Green

To be fair, I retract the “fake” label as it is not accurate to what I meant to express. So I’ll give it another try. How do we know, as fervent readers (and occasional critics!) of PurseBlog that these “in collaboration” posts are truthful? The fact that PB gets something from the brand (free bag? money? other?) makes it difficult to claim impartiality when it comes to these reviews. I trust you when you say you actually like the bag in question. Nevertheless, the waters have been muddied. At least, from the perspective of discerning readers, these types of reviews are potentially compromised.
PS: I do appreciate the fact that the “in collaboration” tag helps us single them out quickly.
PS2: PurseBlog is a business, so I get it. If Prada came to me and said please write a review about our new bag and here is X, Y, Z for you to keep, I would make sure everyone knows how fabulous these bags are! 😉

Megs Mahoney Dusil

I understand where you are coming from, but let me clear this up a bit. An “In Collaboration” with post is always marked as such because this is part of a native campaign with a brand. It’s important to us to let you know that up front so right before you even choose to read the review, you know that this post is sponsored. If you see an “in collaboration” with post and you don’t like those, it will make it easy for you not to read it if you so choose. We’ve never tried to hide that, and I have always been up front about it. If a bag is gifted to me, I always share that as well.

I wouldn’t be impartial if a brand was paying me and I didn’t state that, or they were showering me with bags and I also didn’t state that. I clearly state that any sponsored post is just that so you know :). Also, I have never taken a bag in exchange for a review. In fact, I don’t receive a ton of free bags for this reason alone and I don’t ask for free bags. It’s incredibly important for me to retain my integrity and I don’t want any brand to feel like they can buy a positive review.

Majority of bags we photograph are not gifted, they are samples from brands. This gives us the opportunity to see the bag in person, photograph it, and give a review of it.

And I am really particular about who we partner with. I work with brands and companies that I personally find to align with our readers and my personal preferences. There are brands that I would never work with because of how they conduct business or simply because I truly don’t like their designs and would be exchanging my integrity for money.

Of course this is a business and there are brands we will work with in different ways, and if one of those ways is a sponsored post, we will always mark it as such at the top of the post so you can decide if you want to read it but also knowing when you read it that it was a collaboration with the brand.

Master Green

I will ask the obvious question here: what exactly does PB get in exchange for these sponsored posts?

Megs Mahoney Dusil

Sponsored means paid for, just as it’s definition suggests

What else could we be getting in exchange… houses around the world, endless massages, and private planes? Ha 😉

Master Green

Thanks for your transparency. I honestly think a lot of readers did not realize that.

Chris

Please.. we all know that. And don’t speak for other readers. Thank you.

Master Green

I did not know that. Please… don’t speak for other readers.

Ali

Agreed, it’s self explanatory.

Candee

It’s surprising that anyone would question their posts as “truthful”. You are implying they lack honesty and integrity, which is wrong. Everyone knows they receive bags and write about them and make money. However, ppl are able to discern for themselves if they like the bag, are interested in purchasing and don’t just follow, like sheep. I don’t know, but often wonder if there are bags they don’t like and would not feature. For instance, I could be wrong but I don’t recall ever reading a review of D&G bags, which due to their political leanings could be an issue for this blog. Nevertheless, I believe that Megs, and her team, write about bags they like and enjoy. While some of the bags aren’t for me I respect them enough to believe that they are being truthful and don’t just roll over to make money. They have maintained their business for all these years and have a very large worldwide following (?) because they have integrity. While I respect what they write the photography is professional, exceptional and beautiful! It might be my favorite part of the blog because it is that good!

Megs Mahoney Dusil

Thank you so much Candee! Really appreciate not only the kind words, but the support and believing in us not to solely try to sell out.

I am always transparent about sponsored posts, they are always labeled, and I always let people know if a bag I am writing about is gifted – as I believe it can change the way people then view my review (granted, I don’t take bags in exchange for content and prefer to buy my own bags so my reviews can be as unbiased as possible).

And so glad you love the photography! We really strive to offer the best to you all 🙂

Master Green

Good for you and good for Megs for having such a fervent supporter and superfan!

I am of a more skeptical nature and I think my comments reflect a legitimate concern about the ethical ambiguity of these “in collaboration” posts.

Candee

You are not only skeptical, but you diminish everyone else’s opinion as though yours is superior. To call into question their integrity and discuss “ethical ambiguity” is an attempt to stain their reputation. Based on her response I understand their business model. I don’t know you, but I’m wondering how you might feel if someone questioned your integrity at your employment? Anyway, if it makes you feel better to mock me by calling me a “fervent supporter and superfan”, go ahead. It says more about your character than mine.

Master Green

Thanks for your input.

Passerine

This is the bag equivalent of walking down Avenue Montaigne wearing socks with sandals…
Pass.

Harleen

agree! or underwear sticking out of your pants

Courtney

It’s a cool design and the pink is really pretty

Marie

wonder why a bag that has 1000 plus people on the waitlist need to advertise on Purseblog… online reviews of their bags’ quality are terrible and it seems like they cannot keep up with the alleged demand and maintain decent quality.

Lori

I love the crowd of people who post comments on PB. They tell it like it is and I find that so refreshing! Bag designers should take note of the comments here.

Smithy

I personally don’t want a bag that 1k other people want. No thanks.

Kenzie

I totally agree, unless it’s from a heritage brand (like a Chanel 2.55 Reissue or Hermes Birkin or Kelly, etc.)

Cindy

I always liked this bag so I bought one a few months back. The leather does show wear but that happens on other bags of mine too and it adds character. I love my Tulip but the doctor bag is my fav from linjer!

Pamela W.

The ugliest bag I have ever seen and I was targeted by their waitlist ads since 2016 LOL. Think waitlist is their strategy no?

Lori

I don’t know what anyone is talking about, I love this bag! The yellow and this pink are so good!

Jay

Waitlist for this bag?? Why??
Doesn’t looking appealing at all and I wouldn’t want to spend that much money on a relatively unknown brand.
I rather just stick to my high end brands.
