Early last week Gucci presented its Resort 2020 collection, and the bags were as Gucci as ever. Creative director Alessandro Michele speaks to a wide range of people, and the Gucci girl (or guy) under Michele’s direction is quite diverse. This collection resonates most with those who wish to standout and embrace uniqueness and individuality. Michele’s eclectic aesthetic offers gender fluid pieces, and ambiguous models carried handbags of every kind. There were exotic mini bags, and Gucci’s classic bamboo top handle bag was spotted as well. Gucci introduced a new, rainbow monogram print, which was seen on everything from bucket bags and backpacks, to a large duffle traveler bag. Mickey Mouse once again was spotted on the Gucci runway, making an appearance atop Gucci’s iconic coated canvas. View all of the bags below.

The neutrals bags are classic and beautiful! The multi-color prints are ghastly. Way too much color, like a bad knock of, of itself. Well I guess every collection is bound to have a dog or two.
The classics in exotics are divine.
The wannabe “Gucci X Takashi Murakami” is a sad version of LV’s vintage Monogram Multicolor. It will be convenient to spot douche bags though!
My first thoughts too. I still love and carry my LV Multicolore bags. These Gucci bags are garish ripoffs.
I am surprised at how all over the place the bags are. What ever happened to having a vision and following it? I can’t stand Chanel bags but they at least stick with their theme. Or my beloved Hermes is always on point with tone and style direction. I know Gucci is at the top of their game, but for how long?
Looks like I’m the only one who actually likes color here…the duffel in multi color is a great option. While I do agree it is reminiscent of LV multi color print, I also think that’s not a bad thing.
The colors are too primary, bright and standout too much! IMO only pre-teens and teens would wear such garish colors. Also, Minnie Mouse?? Why do designers think that grown ass women are going to wear cartoons on their expensive bags?? Otherwise, the neutrals are sophisticated and gorgeous!
That bricky-tan croc-embossed one with the bamboo is drop-dead gorgeous
