Last week, while most of us were frantically finishing out holiday shopping and checking our grocery lists twice, Gucci dropped its Pre-Fall 2019 collection on us via a very extensive lookbook. For many of us big time Gucci fans, this was a very welcome holiday gift! Alessandro Michele blessed us with bag after bag after bag, and though Chanel might say otherwise, Gucci, it seems, is trying to tell us that exotic skins—in beautiful colors no less—are indeed in for Pre-Fall 2019.
Many of these bags make use of Gucci’s newest hardware, which marries a Horsebit and an interlocking G. There were tiny bucket bags, double bag situations, and even a color blocked version of the ever-popular Marmont flap bag. Aside from a large patchwork tote that includes some sort of metallic fringed detailing, which is also present on a mini-bag, most of these bags are fairly commercial, which to many is an interesting surprise. From basketball shaped bags, to a mickey mouse head, Michele is known for his electic and sometimes downright weird designs. See all of the bags below!

This might be the most relatable luxury campaign ever. There are very few things that are more satisfying than munching crisps right out of the bag while carrying a beautiful designer bag.
Oh YES. I need a price point on those bags with what appear to be embroidered flowers ASAP. I’m drooling.
Yes, I was wondering the same. The embroidery is gorgeous…….but likely VERY pricey.?
I am loving these bags!! I can’t wait for these to be released!!
Yes, yes, and yes. I wonder what the prices will be? I love the top handles! I love the multi color Marmont update, all in neutrals it’s fantastic.
I am SO IN LOVE! Those larger bags are so stunning. Amazing!!!!!!!!!
Luv the exotics being stilled used – not on board with virtue posturing nixing in an industry that exists solely as manufacturered “need” in the first place.
Imo pythons of the Everglades are an as yet severely under tapped resource, as they are gobbling up wildlife, pets and even people and need to undergo stringent control.
Two or three decent bags and the rest is just awful. I am continuing to be disappointed in the direction Gucci is going and the hypocrisy of anti-fur and pro-exotic (mind boggling and stupid) is well displayed in these photos.
thank you! I really feel the same about pro exotic
One of the best bag collections from Michele yet. Much more focused.
banning fur but increasing the use of exotic skin makes literally no sense. Like that one coat, though
Where do I begin? The bags – I didn’t see a bag I didn’t like! All gorgeous, BUT these beautiful bags get lost in the Picasso-esqe macabre of the outfits! Those giraffe gloves are hideous! There’s no other way to say it. And, what is with their consistently ugly shoes/& or boots? REALLY? It all looks like a mashup of the 50’s meet the 70’s! But the bags? Perfection!?
Edit: Is there a subliminal message in the models munching on junk food? Isn’t there some tax on junk food, in Europe? Besides, the rich don’t maintain their size 0’s eating junk food! Ha!
I need to get me a tiny bucket bag ASAP
Yikes! Is Gucci’s moment over already? These are so old lady!
That little baby bucket bag! Added to wishlist <3
