Welcome to 2021, the year of vaccine passports, that TikTok baked feta pasta, mom jeans, bold brights and…rubber Gucci heels? Yep, you heard me right, these pretty pastel Gucci slides are not only taking over social media, but they’ve taken up space in my heart as well. With summer on the horizon I’ve got my eyes set on beach days, rooftop nights, park picnics and everything else in between. Of course, that means I’m building a catalog of outfits I’d like to wear in my head. That also means I’ve got my eyes on a few new pieces I’d like to splurge on this spring. And one thing that I cannot get out of my head is these adorable pastel slides.
I first came across these slides on Instagram’s popular page and since then they seem to be following me everywhere I go. And yes, that includes TikTok (confesssion: I’ve become addicted to a pre-bedtime feed lurk). One TikTok’er after the next is debuting the slides and I’ve seen reviews, unboxings and everything in between having to do with these sandals on my For You page. The more I watch them the more the algorithm shows them to me, which I guess means I am my own worst enemy here people.

I know, I know, $350 is a pretty hefty price tag for a pair of rubber sandals, but hear me out. These sandals aren’t just the ones for me, they’re the ones for you too! With a chunky heel and platform outsole, I’d be able to wear these even though I can’t really wear heels anymore. Word on the street is they’re pretty comfortable, and I’ve been on the lookout for a fun summer shoe with a bit of height that won’t kill my feet.
Now I know that justifying something as being fun and cute is not a reason enough to drop some major cash on a pair of shoes, but there’s something else about these that I adore.
Maybe it’s that the colorful, jelly look reminds me of the shoes I used to love as a kid or maybe it’s that I can imagine wearing them with everything from flirty floral dresses to light wash jeans and a white tank. Nonetheless, the thought of owning (and strutting the streets), in these beauties makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and after a very hard year we could all use a little bit of that! Shop now via Gucci.
I love the look of these! You made me want them too^^ But I’m not sure I’d be able to wear these because of the rubber – I’ve tried (cheap) rubber sandals before, but they just ended up rubbing my skin off so badly I would end up bleeding every time I wore them 😮 same with rubber flip flops. Does anybody else have that issue with rubber shoes? Or is my skin just a princess on the pea???
I’ve been watching a ton of videos and reviews – from what I hear they are comfortable but I cannot attest to that myself. They are so fun and I am in love!
Same. I love these but I have a pair of Coach jelly sandals from years ago that still kill my feet even after being worn a ton.
The 90s can keep them.
I’m struggling to see beauty in them.
I mean… it’s fine for the pool…
I feel that my feet would get hot and sweaty and I’d slide right out of them. I can’t imagine anyone wearing these.
Looks like crocs just went premium. Sad state when slapping a brand gives cheap garbage the promise of status
Cheap garbage with the promise of status? Sounds like the entire Alessandro Michele era of Gucci.

Disagree completely. Gucci offers so many options and not everything will be your cup of tea. I am not interested in purchasing rubber shoes myself but I will say they look cute on. If people love them then that’s great, no matter the reason. Fashion is about confidence, personal style, and what makes you happy.
Looks like a Melissa´s sandal.
These remind me of my childhood in the 90s. They’re silly, but if you have money to burn I guess they’re fun in a nostalgic sense.
Looks like an item that would be purchased by someone who desperately wants a designer item that screams, “I’m a designer item” but really can’t afford to spend designer prices.
not true and that is a lil mean to say …. people find beauty in all kinds of fashion and everyone has their own personal style and its not for anyone to judge.. you do you and let them do them
I see from your other comment that you have purchased these shoes. I guess it’s a lesson to us all that, when we think we are simply critiquing a purse or shoes, someone somewhere has purchased this item and we have made them feel bad about it. I’m truly sorry about that. I’m sure that there are lots of people who also love these shoes and I sincerely hope I did not taint your enjoyment of them.
So true. ?
Love and want.
I don’t believe they are taking up social media. Definitely can’t wear them anywhere other than a pool, and look very uncomfortable being made of Rubber 🙁 🙁
I’d be afraid I’d get blisters from my foot sweating and rubbing against the top strap. I have plenty of pool shoes from a variety of designers and have found some to be VERY uncomfortable, unfortunately the ones made by Gucci. I love the design, but they kill my feet just tryiing them in the store.

They run narrow, your feet slide, your feet can bend the middle when walking. They are not a trend I would invest $300+ in. I tried on in Nordstrom. Strong pass.
Great feedback!
Very helpful. Thanks!

I have the slides in black and the first day was brutal, these are not meant for walking around all day. After that first day I was fine, these slides are tacky but I wanted to do something fun for once with my shoes. I always stick to the classics in terms of shoes like the Hermès Oran’s or the YSL Nu Peids, it was fun to get something trendy for once.

Thanks for the feedback I was wondering how far one would be able to walk in these!
Jellies for adults…. with more money than sense! Think I’d buy a cheap pair with similar design. Don’t need big “GUCCI” screaming at me from the foot band.
These would look cute on my 8 year old daughter or in an ad. I can’t imagine they are cute at all in person. Overpriced pool shoes. Can’t imagine the foot sweat.
I understand your want for the chunky heeled mule trend! Mine is the Jimmy Choo Baia Mule (the silver ones with the rhinestones) that I saw on Demi Lovato. Never thought I’d be a mule type of girl but then I saw her wear them. She paired them with an extremely casual outfit which gave it “Running Errands but Glam” and I was sold lol. I agree everyone needs a fun shoe!
If they do a glossy hot pink that resembles the barbie shoes I may buy it – right now they just look one grade above my beloved Crocs
I just purchased them in white the logo isnt as as in your face,….waiting to receive them for me the white was understated and something i could casually wear with jeans or shorts or to the beach …I read the reviews that said they were comfortable we shall see when i get them …. plus I disagree with the ““I’m a designer item” but really can’t afford to spend designer prices.”quote below … but i do whole heartily agree with “Fashion is about confidence, personal style, and what makes you happy.” Do what makes you happy and stop following the masses .. 🙂
I ordered them in blue just so I could try them on and see if I like them as much in person as I do online. Well, they are SO comfortable and cute! I have size 6US standard width feet and thought the fit of the 36EU was perfect. The logo is pretty subtle too so people who don’t already know who makes these probably won’t even notice. That being said, Steve Madden has an almost identical pair that’s currently on sale at Macy’s for $35. So I’m waiting for those to arrive so I can compare. If they’re as uncomfortable as every other cheap rubber/jelly shoe I’ve tried I’ll be keeping the Gucci pair. Otherwise, I can’t justify spending literally 10x the price when there’s a similar pair available.
