An exciting year begins for the House of Gucci, celebrating the debut collection from new creative director Sabato De Sarno, which launches this Spring. Today, the next chapter of the story is written with the release of De Sarno’s first campaign for Gucci.
Unveiled today, the Gucci Ancora campaign transcends the traditional, portraying a unique narrative of personal expression. Celebrating fashion and beauty with a timeless allure, all through the lens of Sabato De Sarno.
A New Vision for Gucci
The campaign offers a further look into De Sarno’s new vision for the House, showcasing pieces from his debut collection for Spring/Summer 2024, which was revealed in September. The images themselves were inspired by British fashion photographer David Sims and are a tribute to the art of fashion photography.

As a whole, the imagery portrays the unique view that De Sarnos has for the House, one of authenticism and empowerment, powered by wardrobe necessities that offer a touch of everyday elegance.
Statement pieces like bold red leather are paired with denim and tailored essentials. At the same time, the bags presented are the newest version of the Gucci Jackie 1961 and a new handheld GG logo silhouette designed by De Sarno. View images from the campaign below and discover more via Gucci.
The collection will launch online and in-stores this February.

I can not deal with the zarafication of Gucci. I have hard time with Burberry trying to be the next Bottega, but what gucci is trying to pull is just too much. The shrinkflation on the Jackie hardware, why? If it wasn’t for the GG belts this could be ANYTHING. the cuts are so blah, everything is so meh. I truly hope that this will not work out for them, but I am sure it will…
Well said. Generic. Usually Gucci has an aesthetic that is consistent and easy to spot.
“…portraying a unique narrative of personal expression.”
Really? Where?
Everyone’s a fashion editor these days it seems. I like the campaign, the colors, the simplicity, it feels like a fresh reset at Gucci which is what it is, the new CD’s first collection. Is it new? Not really but I love the tailoring and relaxed silhouettes. What I don’t love is the hardware on the Jackie, c’mon Sabato, the Jackie deserves betta!
I love the burgandy tones, but disappointed the pics didn’t really let you see the full shape of this pouch bag and some of the clothes. Definitely a teaser that we don’t need.
Really confused why they switched from the iconic piston clasp to a dog leash clasp? Is there a reference I’m missing? It looks so much cheaper.
Looks like the new direction is more main stream, yes, you could say more generic. Many of the items fit into great basics that would be wearable now and for years to come. I think they need to strike more of a balance, interesting and unique with wonderful basics mixed in.
Good bye loud luxury! hello quiet luxury.
