At its core, Gucci remains one of the most storied fashion Houses of all time. However, with Creative Director Alessandro Michele at the helm, past codes are constantly being reinvented through a contemporary lens.
Within the collection of Gucci Aria, the classic Gucci Ophidia line evolves by pairing the instantly recognizable GG Supreme canvas with a white leather trim and a blue and red Web on a selection of silhouettes, including the classic tote bag, camera bag, shoulder bag, and more. The final result offers a fresh take on many of the House’s defining elements, including the Double G emblem in gold.
The Bags of Gucci Ophidia
One of the most used bags in my personal collection is a variation of the Gucci Ophidia medium tote with Web detailing, and this new rendition with a white leather trim could easily become one of your most-used bags as well. With the right dimensions (15″W x 11″H x 5.5″D) to carry your daily items while remaining light and easy to throw over your shoulder (double leather handles with a 10″ drop and 21″ in length), this bag is all about practicality. I’ve found the leather to be highly durable and easy to clean, and of course, the GG Supreme canvas is light and long-lasting. There’s a microfiber lining, an interior zip pocket, and you can secure the tote with a magnetic snap closure.
For a more compact bag that still holds your necessities, there’s the Gucci Ophidia small shoulder bag or the Gucci Ophidia camera bag. The shoulder bag features curved lines at the top of the bag, while the camera bag offers a more distinctive rectangular shape. Both contain the same design elements, from the archive-inspired details like the blue and red version of the Web to the Double G zipper pulls and the GG Supreme canvas. While the shoulder bag offers an adjustable strap, the camera bag has a long strap that also gives ample room to wear the bag over your shoulder or as a crossbody. Dimensions are quite similar, with the shoulder bag being 9.5″W x 7.5″H x 3″D and the camera bag being 9.3″W x 5.5″H x 2.8″D.
While the GG Supreme canvas is one of the most recognizable prints, its pairing against crisp white (though not stark white) leather adds an elevated touch, one that offers the ability to dress up or dress down the outfit you pair these bags with. You can opt for this luscious coat and a pair of elegant heels or go with the sportier look of this dress (add the harness if you really want that unexpected touch).
I really enjoy the look of classic Gucci. But personally, I prefer the red/green stripe to the red/blue one.

I love the white as it’s so different
My first Gucci purchase was a white bag. It was beautiful and while I’m very careful with my bags I couldn’t prevent it from becoming off-white. Since then I’ve never purchased another white bag, despite that I feel white exudes elegance.

Agree with other posters. With a white bottom, should at least have feet. But I like the shoulder bag.
I absolutely love this new collection with the white trim, it makes a change from brown all the time, the blue and white trim is so up to date and I’m sure it will be very popular with most people.
