No matter the trends of the particular year, spring and summer are always about color. It’s present everywhere in the world around us – flowers, grass, blue skies, creatively colored adult beverages – when the weather turns warm, and for the past year or two, it’s been especially preponderant in the form of python handbags. We’ve waxed philosophical about python both dyed and painted in the past, but the Givenchy Painted Python Nightingale seemed like a perfect opportunity to let you guys do the pontificating.
And thus, we have this week’s edition of Fill in the Blank. The almost tie-dyed paint swirls on this bag’s pale python background are interesting, for sure, but I’m not sure if I love the implementation as much as I would if it were a little less…doodle-y. So what say you, ladies? Are you digging this bag, or will you pass? If it’s the former, you can pick it up via Barneys for a cool $4525.
fun & a bit whimsical but not in my price range. . .
I love the Nightingale….!!!!!!!! This is on my short list for fall….I cannot decide between this and a Celine bag. I think I will purchase the regular leather version with colored piping.
Just don’t get that Nightingale… please!!!!!!
“…a waste of a python’s life”. I’ll stick with my black, pebbled leather version. Love the Nightingale style.
SHOCKING (IN A POSITIVE WAY), BUT VERY HEAVY TO CARRY…
Beautiful! I would wear this, although I’d never spend that much money for it.
I think it is tacky.
I like it for spring and summer but I could re-finish my downstairs floors for that + buy a springy Spade, Minkoff or Coach.
Love Love Love…. swoon.
…overpriced by about $4524.
Expensive but there is something here I like. Not sure what? I think its the shape of the bag. The pattern is way to busy for me. Love the gold detail on the handles.

The nightingale is kinda over. I haven’t used mine in two years. I’d rather spend the money on a Celine luggage tote any day.
I have both a Nightingale and a celine luggage tote and you can bet the luggage tote is going to be over too…
Amen! I’m with the last poster I’m not in to the nightingale anymore. There are newer shapes and styles from Givenchy I would rather invest in. This one is not for me!
Fierce!!!!
BEAUTIFUL!! Sooo pretty.
…a hot mess.
A trend, that I hope will soon fade.
friggin amazing!!

… kinda reminiscent of the Louboutin paint splatter on white python design, but not quite as awesome.
fabulous!! too pricey though!
what pythons would look like if Paul Klee created them.
